No, not jack o' lantern:  Much like Eddie Murphy, Lantern Festivals have been Coming to America at a furious pace. The exhibitions, which started more than 2000 years ago, are showcased in a variety of shapes and forms and timed to end Chinese New Year's celebrations. The  Fort Worth Botanic Garden has produced   Lanterns in the Garden, which started March 9 and will run most nights through May 12. Botanic Research Institute of Texas (BRIT), in partnership with the Botanic Garden, offered to help get natives out to see the light(s). The event features lanterns crafted from silk, recycled water bottles, wire and steel, and an evening filled with fun, food and adventure. Grab two friends and get lit as you enjoy exquisite lights and designs.

Talk of the Towne: When you are a suites hotel and many of your guests have long-term stays, you have to be creative to stay fresh. General Manager April Dalton and Director of Sales Linda Franko at TownePlace Suites Fort Worth NW/Lake Worth are as fresh as a Gordon Boswell Flowers bouquet of flowers. Check in for this one night's stay: The Netflix Night Package. In addition to your sensational suite with separate sleeping, sitting and eating spaces, you'll have access to the TownePlace's Netflix account, piles of popcorn and a 6-pack of local beers. In the morning, there's a free breakfast for two and with late checkout, you can enjoy the fitness room or the pool. You can even use the Weber grills to have a cookout for lunch. While you're having fun in the sun, you'll stay connected to the less fortunate with free Internet access.

Diana, Ella, Olivia, too?:  Mr. B, who can't remember the first or middle name of his granddaughter BamBino, recalled within a fraction of a second that Jeannie C. Riley sang Harper Valley PTA. That was in 1968. And that Nancy Sinatra sang These Boots Are Made for Walking (1966). Mr. B is barricaded in the '60s, which makes  You Don't Own Me: The Fearless Females of the 1960s must-see music for him at Casa MaƱana's Reid Cabaret Theatre April 10-13. Carole J. Bufford sings her version of songs made famous by Janis Joplin, Dusty Springfield, Tina Turner, Carole King, Lesley Gore, Dionne Warwick, Shirley Bassey, Cher and more. Fearless Females was selected Show of the Year and Bufford was named Artist of the Year in 2013 by BroadwayWorld Awards. Casa's Lindsey Rushen-ed over two tickets to opening night April 10.

Science to savor: Anne (Carlos' sister) Santana is a fan of B2B Insider and she would never allow readers to miss out on the always-cool stuff at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Saturday, March 30, the museum's adult-only Science on Tap meshes science and savory from 6-10 p.m. into a fun-filled, foodie fantasy of hands-on activities, samples from local artisans and expert chats. Brain boosts, virtual reality, labs, books and cooks will be there and Ms. Santana says it will be a Supernatural night if you win this pair of VIP tickets, which includes food and two drink tickets each.

What, me worry? The Fort Worth Business Press is working with Dr. Phillip Shero of MasterMinds Leadership on a series of Executive Lunch & Learns. The first is next Wednesday at Topgolf from 11:30-1:30 and is focused on leadership stress in the workplace...recognizing, reducing and removing. The good doc will help you dig deeper to discover the seven root causes of your stress. (If you can't attend, the seven roots are usually son No. 1, daughter No. 1, son No. 2, etc...)  Doc says "some leadership stress is inevitable, but too much stress can impact decision-quality, workplace culture and personal relationships." Don't stress; B2B Insider has a ticket that includes a personal stress assessment, the training and lunch.

Congratulations to the March 13th
Prize Winners:

A WORD FROM OUR GOLD SPONSORS

HE SAID, SHE SAID, THEY SAIDSoundBytes
He's kidding, right?: Michael Ryan, at Four Thirds Creative, fancies hisownself a creative punster. " What do you call a scary female horse? ...  A nightmare." Michael says he has small boys that love jokes. He says B2B Insider could become "a secondary outlet for all my kids joke study."

A two-fer: Sonya Cisneros, a contemporary Modern at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, will be spending her mid-July in cool and coastal Scarborough, Maine.  Oops, missed the real news...she'll be getting married.

True?: Cortney Gumbleton, co-founder of Locavore, still has her Christmas tree up. "...for well over a year," she said. "Partly because it's a pain to take down, but mainly because it helps my 'two-truths-and-a-lie' game."

Little buggers: Massey Commercial Service controls pests. Mr. B told Massey's Stan Jones his biggest pests were daughter MisBehavin' and Son NoBGood. "I can handle that," Stan said. "They won't know what hit 'em."

Take my toilet: Handyman Matters owner Brett Jeffreys says bathroom remodels are so hot that he should re-name the franchise Bathroom Remodels Matter.

"In my office, I'm known as Dr. Doom."

--Robert Dye, Chief Economist
Comerica Bank
Sam I Am:  The Chamber's relatively new Creative Specialist says call me "Sam or Sammie, unless you're my grandma, then I'm Samantha." Her sister, a personal banker at Pinnacle Bank, says she is Julie or Jules, "unless you're my grandma, then I'm Juliana."

chili_pepper.jpg Ya'll means all:  Visit Fort Worth counters said more than 3,700 people attended its Fort Worth on Rainey two-day showcase of "creativity and innovation" during South by Southwest in Austin. Mitch Whitten, EVP for Marketing & Strategy, postcarded: "(Visitors) got a taste of our city, flew Lockheed Martin F-35 and Bell flight simulators, took home Mrs. Renfros salsa, met filmmakers, heard local music and much more." The Chamber was an alliance partner.

Days of Our Lives: The prospective Ms. B says in addition to being the first day of spring, today is Proposal Day. Mr. B quickly checked with Chief Chase Calendar Chronicler John Fletcher, who noted it also is World Storytelling Day.

Million reasons to smile: In 1969, Ramesh Bhatia arrived in the U.S. from India. Shortly thereafter, he became GM of ATCO Rubber Products in Michigan. He realized the company needed to be south and central and ATCO chose Fort Worth. In 1994, Bhatia purchased ATCO. In 2018, Bhatia sold ATCO, by then the worldwide leader in flex duct products, for $163 million. On April 2, after an assist from Capital One banker Tiffany Cason, Communities in Schools will have a lunch at the Fort Worth Club to receive and celebrate the Bhatia Family Foundation's $1 million gift, the largest in the non-profit's history.

Kudos: The Kimbell Art Museum is among the 30 finalists for the 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service for its innovative approach to providing an inclusive museum experience. The National Medal is the nation's highest honor given to museums and libraries for service to their communities. Winners will be announced later this spring and will be part of a ceremony June 12 in Washington, D.C.

Kudos, too: Tarleton State University President Dr. F. Dominic Dottavio will step down after 11 years in August, just after the opening of Tarleton's new Fort Worth campus, a crowning achievement.
