Legislators show support in Rotunda
State Senator Mark Koran is passionate about disabilities services. His wife does in-home hospice care.

"This is the reason government should exist and we should be sure to take care of every one of the workers and every one of the clients," he said to a packed crowd in the Capitol Rotunda.

Adoration for the group intensified with Senator Jason Isaacson, who called them the "difference makers" and said he loved the event's energy.
"I'll take you guys any day of the week and twice on Sunday over those guys, no questions asked," he said, referring to insurance companies and others who have lobbied him.

The state senator said government is failing to help people to live their best lives. "That is why you are here. And, frankly, I'll tell ARRM and everybody else: don't leave until we fix it. Camp out in our hallways, disrupt our meetings, come into our offices . . . unless you stay present and visible with us, change isn't going to happen."

Rep. Dave Lislegard said he visited a day program site and was inspired.
He left the site with a tear in his eye after seeing the staff and participants, and the love they had for one another.

"I'm telling you from the bottom of my heart, that you guys coming together and letting your voice be heard, you can move mountains. Do not back
down for anybody. Go out there and let your voice be heard!

Many others spoke. Watch videos from the Day at the Capitol event.
Rep. Nick Zerwas: "We cannot do it without the work of their caregivers. We need to raise their pay."
