LITURGICAL NEWS
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES - RICE BOWL - LENTEN REFLECTION FROM MISS HOLLIS
The first pillar of Lent is Prayer.

Prayer is conversation with God so that we may grow closer to Him and get to know Him.  We pray to grow in our relationship with God and ask God for guidance on how to live our lives.  In prayer, we also thank God for the gifts we have been given, and we pray for those who have less than we do.  During Lent, we can make an extra effort to pray each day to become the person God calls us to be.  We can pray each day to become the family that God calls us to be.

Have you used your CRS Rice bowl Lenten calendar to help guide your Lenten journey?  At dinner tonight, talk about what it means to be poor and vulnerable; ask yourselves who the poor and vulnerable truly are in today's world.  Don't forget to pray and give thanks to God for all your blessings and tell Him goodnight when you get ready for bed.

Have you tried any of the great Friday Lenten meal recipes that came with your rice bowl?

Last week the students learned about Norma from Guatemala.  This week, they will learn about a young woman from Uganda named Annet and her story of hope.

Go to  https://www.crsricebowl.org for more interesting information about how Catholic Relief Services (CRS) helps people all around the world and in our own diocese.
