(1) CSD Concentrations Fair – Thursday, February 13 (CSD Students)

Thinking about possibly pursuing a concentration? Come to the CSD Concentrations Fair.

Year 1 students are invited to drop in for this open-house-style fair on Thursday, February 13, 11:00–11:50 a.m., in Shouse 304 to learn more about concentrations within CSD. Faculty concentration coordinators will be on hand to answer questions about the seven individual concentrations, including concentration structure and requirements, programs of study, criteria for application, application process, and deadlines. 

Come with your questions about whether a concentration may be right for you.

(3) Community-Based Rehabilitation in Jordan – Call for Applications (Students)
From Dr. Rawan AlHeresh, Department of Occupational Therapy

Community-Based Rehabilitation (OH-784) is a three-credit hybrid course open to all students in the IHP community. This course includes online modules on rehabilitation service delivery in low- and middle-income countries using the World Health Organization guidelines, followed by a three-week immersion experience in refugee camps in Amman, Jordan. The trip dates (approximate) are from August 15 to August 30, 2020. If you are interested, please submit your CV and a one-page letter of interest of how this experience will influence your professional growth to Dr. Rawan AlHeresh no later than Friday, February 14. (7) Viewing of Talking Black in America – Monday, March 23 (Institute Wide)

Join the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association for a screening of the documentary Talking Black in America, which highlights the discriminatory views toward a dialect that is prevalent in all medical professions, on Monday, March 23, 4:30–7:00 p.m. in Shouse 315. Breakout sessions will follow. This event is partnered with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Students for Racial Justice in Healthcare. Email Stephanie Gaglini with any questions.
