A Lecture Series

Please join us for an informative public education lecture series featuring noted Orange County history and political science professors. This lecture series is presented  in collaboration with the Center for Public Policy, Citizenship and Ethics at Concordia University Irvine. 

Dr. Jo Ellen Chatham, Adjunct Professor and Director, Center for Public Policy, Citizenship and Ethics, Concordia University Irvine; former Associate Professor of Political Science at West Los Angeles College.

Dr. Volker Janssen, Professor and Vice-Chair of the Department of History at California State University Fullerton where he teaches American and California History. 

Lisa Matthews, Assistant Professor Lisa Matthews Resident Faculty-History, Concordia University Irvine.

Dr. Brian Santin, is an Assistant Professor at Concordia University Irvine.

Dr. Robert Robinson, Associate Professor of Political Science and Undergraduate Political Science Coordinator at California State University Fullerton, where he teaches public law, the Presidency, and American government.

In this three-part lecture series, we will reflect on our history as a nation with an overview of our founding documents. Each session contains six one-hour lectures presented by the guest lecturers listed above. The lecture series, including a short Q&A session with the speaker, will be hosted at the Nixon Library from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, beginning Wednesday, March 4 th and concluding Wednesday, October 21st .  Please see the syllabus  for a full list of dates, speakers and topics. 

Each participant will receive a pocket edition of the United States Constitution courtesy of the National Archives and Records Administration (while supplies last).

Join us for the first of 18 lively discussions at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum on  March 4, 2020 at 6 pm in Theater 37.
