On January 15, more than 100 CCSNJ members joined us in Atlantic County for our first event of 2020, a discussion between CCSNJ President & CEO Christina Renna,  Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa  President & COO Marcus Glover, and New Jersey Casino Control Commission Chairman James Plousis about the impacts of sports betting and challenges of workforce development in Atlantic City.

First Woman Business Dean at Rutgers University-Camden Announced
The appointment of Monica Adya, a noted business education innovator and a scholar in the area of IT workforce issues, as dean of the Rutgers School of Business-Camden is announced by Phoebe A. Haddon, chancellor of Rutgers University-Camden.

When the appointment becomes effective March 30, Adya will become the first woman to serve as dean of the Rutgers-Camden business school.

NJEDA Begins Accepting Microbusiness Loan Program Applications
The NJEDA is now accepting applications for the Microbusiness Loan Program. The pilot program makes financing of up to $50,000 available to for-profit New Jersey businesses, who can use the financing for working capital or to purchase equipment. 

To qualify, a business must have annual revenues of less than $1,500,000 in the most current fiscal year and cannot have more than 10 full-time employees at the time of application. Startup businesses may be eligible for financing but must first demonstrate that they have completed an entrepreneurship training program or Small Business Development Center counseling session.
