September in Truro...
The last month of summer but for many the best... turning left on Rt 6 or going to the PO is no longer a harrowing experience.
Although we lose almost 3 minutes of sunlight per day, our warm surrounding waters keep our average air temperatures up.
According to past records, we expect average lows of 55°F and highs of 70°F. Great weather for plant growth! We traditionally get a total of 2.8 inches of rain which is about the same as August.
Below are some of the activities and events happening about town this month.

Please call the Highland House Museum for more information (508) 487-3397 or drop off your items at the museum Monday - Saturday, 10am to 4:30pm. Thanks in advance for your help and generosity!

As is our tradition, the Highland House Museum will be presenting the kick-off program: "Off We Go Into the Wild Green Yonder: Cape Air's Sustainable Solutions." Jim Wolf, Cape Air's Director of Sustainability, will be talking about Cape Air's plan to purchase a fleet of electric airplanes. These emission-free planes are being developed by Eviation, an Israeli company, and may be in flight as soon as 2022.

Truro Cultural Council 2020 Grants Now Available.
The Truro Cultural Council announces the 2020 grant cycle is now open for application. Please review the information at www.mass-culture.org for applications, procedures, and guidelines. The deadline for completed applications is October 15, 2019. Please be aware that ALL applications must be completed online, and paper copies will not be accepted. All information and applications are available at the noted web address, above.
If you have a cultural project you would like to share with the community and with which you may need financial assistance, please feel free to apply for a grant! The Truro Cultural Council's application approval priority leans toward projects that promote tourism in Truro; provide education, information, and entertainment to the Truro Community through the arts, sciences and humanities; or such projects with merit that are collaborative and include Cape Cod as a whole. Applications for projects simply requesting salaries or those not benefiting Truro residents and visitors directly will be given consideration accordingly. Good luck to all applicants!
Truro Farmers' Market
The Truro Farmers' Market would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the many dedicated volunteers, young and old, who play a vital role in the success of the market. We would also like to thank the town of Truro and its inhabitants for another fruitful year! It is with great joy that we provide a space for children to learn about the importance of eating healthy, a place where people can enjoy local music and fare, and for Cape Codders to have a beautiful spot to sell the food they've grown, raised, caught or made right here in Barnstable County. Though the Truro market has ended for the season, you can visit other regional farmers markets that are part of the Sustainable CAPE's Farmers' Market Coalition.
