Online Voting - Election FAQ's
You must be a current PAID active or retired member to be eligible to vote.

You can check your membership status online. You must login to see the membership directory. When logging into the website remember to use your member ID that is listed in the membership directory. This will link your membership data.

If you are not sure you are a current member, check with Steve Cook musicman@netins.net

It is also vital to check your current IBA email. This is especially important if you have moved to a new school or recently retired. When it comes time for the vote, you should also check your spam/junk mail folder as this email is coming from a different delivery point in our system, different than our eNewsletter.

Coda
In this month’s CODA, I want to give a big shout out to our Elementary and Middle School Affairs Committees. Mary Kay Benton (MS Affairs) and Audra Bailey (Elementary Affairs) have been INSTRUMENTAL in assisting in planning the 2020 IBA Conference offerings.

We have worked closely to bring some of the best and most engaging clinicians to Iowa. Retired Texas middle school educator and Yamaha Master Educator Cheryl Floyd will bring engaging thoughts and proven strategies for working with the middle grades. We are very much looking forward to her two sessions, one each on Thursday and Friday of the conference.
Through a suggestion by the Elementary Affairs Committee in October, we reached out to Mickey Smith, Jr. with an invitation to bring his unique and dynamic perspective to our conference. He is an elementary and middle school band director from Lake Charles, Louisiana. Mr. Smith can be found on Facebook’s Band Director’s Group, and his videos and tips are gold! If his name sounds familiar to you, it may be because he was recently named the 2020 GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year.

It is our honor to host him for a clinic session on Thursday afternoon, two sessions on Friday afternoon, and as our special guest and speaker at the 2020 IBA Banquet. (If it’s been awhile since you’ve attended the banquet, or you’ve never attended, this may be the year to buy a ticket!) He will be attending the conference, and if you have a chance to introduce yourself, I guarantee you’ll immediately be drawn-in by his enthusiasm and energy.
