A special thank you to all of our parents, students, faculty, and staff members who attended and participated in our Craft Night last Thursday, April 11th from 6-7 p.m. This was an amazing and fun school-wide event and we are looking forward to next year's Craft Night. Thank you to Mrs. Green, our fabulous Art teacher, on a remarkable job!
 
FIELD DAY CHANGED TO MAY 15th 
Considering we are in "EOY, FSA, NGSS5" testing season, our 2019 Field Day as been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 15th. Thank you in advance for your flexibility!

 FSA ELA Reading & Writing Update
The FSA ELA Reading & Writing make-up window ended on April 12th. We successfully tested 100% of our graded 3-5 Tangelo Park Tigers!
 
i-Ready
The EOY (End of the Year) Diagnostic i-Ready K-5 testing window has begun and runs from April 11, 2019 to April 30, 2019.
 
Saturday School
Calling all 3-5 students! We are still meeting each Saturday to extend the learning and FSA preparation. If you have not attended one of our Saturday School sessions, it is not too late! You may print out the Saturday School registration form (below) and either return it to your teacher or bring the completed copy with you to the Saturday School sessions: 4/20 and 4/27. Breakfast is served from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and instruction is between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

HIGHLIGHT: APRIL 2019 CHARACTER TRAIT - "SPORTSMANSHIP" 
 
Each month, teachers select a student of the month that displayed the month's character trait. These students of the month participate in a celebration with treats, drinks, a video, and they receive a certificate!

Ms. Varughese - Kindergarten
 

Q: How long have you been a teacher? How long at TPES?
A: have been in the education field for 5 years. I'm a newbie with OCPS and also at Tangelo Park Elementary.

Q: Where did you graduate from college?
A: I graduated from Holy Family University in Philadelphia, PA.
 
Q: What is your favorite part about being a teacher?
A: My favorite part about being a teacher is when my students are proud of themselves, as well as their work. Also, when they say, "I want to be a teacher just like you."

Q: What book is your favorite book?
A: I love Mo Williams books, my favorite one is We Are in a Book.

The Tangelo Park 2-3-4-Year-Old Program provides FREE day care, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for all 2, 3, 4, or 5-year-old children who live in the Tangelo Park Community.
