Here is an update of current services and resources
for New Canaan seniors.

SIGN UP FOR GROCERY DELIVERY: The Town has established a system to help seniors with the purchase and delivery of groceries from Walter Stewart’s. You will be asked to prepare a list of essential items you will need for a two-week period. You can then call or email the list to Staying Put. We will assign a volunteer to shop for you and deliver the groceries to your doorstep.  You will be required to provide a credit card number to the shopper . Please call Staying Put at 203-966-7762 to sign up for this service.

Another resource is Meals on Wheels which delivers two nourishing meals for $9 a day five days a week. Financial assistance is available. Call Melissa Shapiro at (203) 594-5318 to sign up. We strongly recommend that you avoid going into grocery stores and pharmacies , even during “Seniors only” hours. Please take advantage of delivery services.
