DAYTON OPPORTUNITY ZONES:
What Are They and Why Should We Care
A Chance to Invest in Our Community Through
Federal Incentive Program
The attached publication provides a detailed discussion of federal income tax benefits and requirements associated with investing in Opportunity Zone projects. Dayton federal designated Opportunity Zones can be found through the searchable map at     https://www.development.oh io.gov/bs/bs_censust racts.htm

This topic could be of great interest to (1) established businesses within Opportunity Zones that wish to expand, (2) development and renovation projects within opportunity zones that might find certain funds as an attractive source of financing, (3) individuals and businesses that have a sizable capital gain portfolio, (4) investment funds to be formed to accumulate capital gains dollars from investors, and (5) lenders who might be interested in providing additional funds to supplement the financing needed for a project within an Opportunity Zone.

This information is circulated to give some clarity for those interested and to assist in discussions with your client. A group of Dayton attorneys from three law firms have reviewed this publication and additional contacts from the City of Dayton and Dayton affiliated organizations are also listed at the end of the attachment for further discussion and to connect projects with investors.

A synopsis of this information will be available in the April issue of Bar Briefs magazine.
