Good Morning CSW members:

The CSW will be sending out updates as they happen related to changes in the COVID-19 pandemic response. The memos will place the essential information and links related to the COVID-19 mandates in Wisconsin at the beginning.  The second section will contain additional information and links that will be of interest and assistance as we all work through this pandemic.

We have included key links to documents and flyers you can download to have in your office for patients to take home and also to display for information purposes.

The key factor to remember is that chiropractic services are a positive solution to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our core principles of health from within and the positive effects of the chiropractic adjustments to the body’s immune system will allow all of our members to assist all of our patients to remain healthy and be a leading solution to the overall pandemic.
Essential Information
Governor Evers' Mandate:
Currently, healthcare facilities including chiropractic offices are exempt from the following 10-person mandate:

"Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 by individuals who are infected with COVID-19 attending these events and spreading the virus to other participants. Therefore, DHS, under the authority of Wis. Stat § 252.02(3) and at the direction of  Governor Tony Evers, has ordered a statewide moratorium on mass gatherings of 10 or more people to prevent the spread of COVID-19 . The order is effective on Tuesday, March 17 at 5:00 pm.

A “mass gathering” is any planned or spontaneous, public or private convening that brings together or is likely to bring together 10 or more people in a single room or single confined space at the same time.

All gatherings that bring together or are likely to bring together less than 10 people in a single room or confined or enclosed space at the same time must:
  • Preserve social distancing of six feet between people; and
  • Follow all other public health recommendations issued by DHS and CDC."

The order exempts the following: Health Care .
  • All health care facilities, including hospitals, medical facilities, home health agencies, personal care agencies, hospices, adult family homes, and pharmacies.

CDC Signs:
It is our responsibility as health care providers to help limit/slow the progression of the virus.
  1. Standard CDC protocol recommends placing a sign or screening employee at the front desk to ask people to disclose any fevers, shortness of breath and lower respiratory distress.
  2. Additionally, you should direct any patients with these symptoms to a COVID-19 local testing facility as they become available in your area.
  3. You will also need to ensure patient and staff safety with repeated disinfecting of public and clinical areas and ensure staff are also symptom free.
Additional Information on COVID-19
Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS):
The primary resource for current information will be the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). They have a link dedicated to the COVID-19 pandemic response. This will change frequently at the beginning and hopefully decrease as the issue resolves. The CSW will be monitoring this website, but it is recommended that all of our members also monitor this website on a daily basis during the mandate period.  https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/index.htm

Reporting of suspected cases of COVID-19 :

The State Epidemiologist has declared COVID-19 a Category I reportable disease   per a memo issued on Feb. 4, 2020 .
