TOPIC:  
 
This two day (16 hour course) will educate participants to be familiar with various areas of small UAS operations.  

By use of presentation, video, and pictures, the participants will be more aware of several aspects of working with and around small unmanned aircraft and interaction with the FAA. It is thorough UAS training presented by a top-notch trainer. The course will also educate and prepare you for the FAA Part §107 License Certification. 

Training will include:

Day One:
  • FAA Part 107 UAS Certification Exam Preparation - Preparation for those intending to take the FAA UAG exam or needing training under a COA, or as a review for Part §107 licensed operators in preparation for the 2-year Recurrent (UGR) exam.
     
     
Day Two:
  • UAS COA Application Process - Public Agency Certification of Authorization or Waiver 
  • UAS Night Operations Preparations Training (with completion certificate) - the FAA requires verification of class training for night operations for waiver approval under a public COA 
  • Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC for §107 Operations) 
  • Law Enforcement Response to Drone Complaints - T he relationship between local law enforcement and the Federal Aviation Administration, local laws and accident reporting.
  • UAS Safety Operations - S afety procedures and risk management when conducting UA operations.

INSTRUCTOR:
Tim Trott passed the FAA Remote Pilot Certification on the first day it was available and also passed the FAA's Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) exam. He has helped over 900 students to pass the FAA written exam for the Remote Pilot Certification under Part §107 with his classes, e-books and online training. In addition, Tim also holds a Student Pilot license and is a current member of the Flight School Association of North America, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International. Mr. Trott is a contributor to podcasts on the subject, including The UAV Digest and Drone Radio Show. He also assisted with beta testing of the Verifly drone insurance mobile app. He has authored a number of books currently available on Amazon.com, including FAA §107 UAG Ground School Study Guide.

All members of the public safety community. Especially important for anyone involved in operations or enforcement related to unmanned aerial vehicles ("drones"). Students are encouraged to bring laptop computers but they are not required.
