Thank you to everyone who turned out for our Cycle 22 Showcase Dinner on Friday, April 5! For their Tier I final exam, the five students of Kitchen Ready Cycle 22 prepared five courses of French dishes, including French onion soup, beet and goat cheese salad, vegetable terrine, coq au vin, and pan-seared fish. They finished off the meal by torching lavender crème brûlée for dessert. The house was packed for both seatings, with guests overflowing to our picnic tables. Click here to view a gallery of photos from the evening

Construction is underway on the first YouthBuild house built in Asheville!

YouthBuild students on construction site
GO YouthBuild students and staff review plans for the house they are constructing on Gaston Street in partnership with the Asheville Housing Authority and Deltec Homes.

In February, GO's YouthBuild students began work on a new duplex home being built by the Asheville Housing Authority. They're completing the interior framing, drywall installation, and painting. Constructing or renovating affordable housing for people with low incomes is a key component of the YouthBuild training model. It's great to see our students putting their construction skills to work for a worthy cause in our Southside neighborhood. This two-unit home is the first of three planned for the Gaston Street site.
Introducing a new menu at GO Cafe!

Guests dining at GO Cafe

With so much happening in our training kitchen in the Edington Center, you may have forgotten that we opened a new cafe last year in South Asheville. GO Cafe is located inside the Givens Gerber Park retirement community, but we're also open to the public for breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday.

Our Cafe team (which includes 4 Kitchen Ready graduates!) launched a new menu this spring. They would love to have you join them for your next breakfast meeting or working lunch. View GO Cafe's location and hours and new menu here

Also, this Thursday, April 18 from 11:30 to 1:30 our chefs will offer a Spring Holiday Luncheon Menu featuring apricot glazed ham, ambrosia, asparagus, scalloped potatoes, deviled eggs, and coconut cake. We hope you'll join us!
