MILTON'S EOC TESTING PROCESS:
Please read below to understand how Milton administers the EOC exam.
  • Students who are required to take an EOC MUST report to school by the regular start time of 8:20AM.
  • Students who do not have an EOC scheduled on designated testing days AND, use a Fulton County School bus as transportation to school, MUST adhere to the following process:
    • Can get their bus at the REGULARLY DESIGNATED PICK-UP TIME and, when they arrive to school, report to the cafeteria (extended study hall) until the testing window is completed.
  • Students who do not have an EOC scheduled on designated testing days AND are able to provide their own transportation, MUST report to school no later than 11:20AM on designated testing days.
Students will be using their Fulton County issued Microsoft Surface Tablet for testing.
We will send reminders out for students to make sure their tablets are  FULLY CHARGED and prepared for their test administration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED EOC TESTING QUESTIONS
Q: Does my child take an EOC everyday during the testing window?
A: No, depending on the grade level, course, some students may take as many as three and some may only take one.

Q: Does the EOC count towards my student's final grade?
A: Yes! The EOC counts as 20% of the student's final grade in that EOC class.

Q: What can I/my child do to be fully prepared for his/her EOC?
A: Review all relevant materials available, get A LOT of sleep the night before AND have a good breakfast on the day of testing. Also, make sure your student FULLY CHARGES THEIR ASSIGNED DEVICE the night before testing.

Q: What does a student need to bring on their day of testing?
A: Students need to bring their SCHOOL ISSUED DEVICE and a pen or pencil.

Q: What if a student was not issued a device/has a damaged device/or forgets their device?
A: There are extra devices to accommodate students in any of the situations listed above.

Q: Are students allowed to have personal electronic devices (cell phone, iPad, personal computer) during their testing session?
A: We STRONGLY DISCOURAGE students from having a personal electronic device with them during their EOC administration. During an active testing session, students in possession of ANY device NOT assigned to them by the school MAY have their score invalidated AND face serious discipline consequences (i.e. suspension, honor code violation report).

Q: What if a student reports to school at the normal time and isn't scheduled to test?
A: Students not testing will stay in the cafeteria and be supervised by staff until the adjusted bell begins.

Q: Is the adjusted schedule used every day during the testing window?
A: No. Please refer to the EOC Testing Schedule at the top for those days.
 MICROSOFT SURFACE UPDATE surface
In an effort to prepare for the spring testing season, we are asking that students update their school issued Surface tablets with needed software/security applications. Below are some simple instructions on how to accomplish this:
  1. Please restart the tablet while on a Wi-Fi network (Click the Windows icon, Click the "Power/Battery" icon, and tap "Restart")
  2. After restarting and logging back in with the students' Fulton County credentials, please click to start any needed updates.
(Click the Windows icon, click the "Settings" option, click "Updates and Security" and click "Check for Updates" and/or "Start Downloads" of any needed/available updates)

DRC Insight is the testing app that is used to administer the End Of Course Assessments in a secure online environment. We will be administering EOC tests to students this spring via the Microsoft Surface, so it is vital that students have this app installed using the directions above.
If you need any assistance with this process, please see Mr. James (in 1240) or the Tech Eagle helpers at the Media Hub help desk.
STUDENTS - PLEASE CHECK YOUR FULTON SCHOOLS EMAIL ACCOUNT FOR REMINDERS.
(Students must access their FCS email account through Microsoft Outlook on their issued tablet.)
COURSE VERIFICATIONS/PROGRESS REPORTSIPRS
Course verifications
Students will be receiving their final course verifications Thursday, April 18 during homeroom after first period. Please review the verification with your student. Course verifications are not schedules. There are sometimes changes that are made during the summer which cause certain courses to be closed. It is also possible that students will not receive the course they request due to scheduling restrictions. For instance, if your student has chosen a course that is only offered one period, and it does not fit into your child's schedule, an alternative course would be placed in your child's schedule. Please contact your child's counselor if you have any questions or concerns.

IPRs
Students will be receiving their 12 week IPR Thursday, April 18 during homeroom after first period. Please review your child's progress and contact any teachers with which you may have concerns.

The goal is let these children know they are valued with food donations and cards/letters created with care.
SOCK DRIVE FOR THE HOMELESSSOCKDRIVE
We are conducting a sock drive for homeless people who suffer from foot conditions that can lead to injury, infections, and even amputation. We need your help donating new or gently worn socks for redistribution to North Fulton Community Charities. We are collecting the socks in the MHS atrium from April 15-19 from 7:45 to 8:15 AM. For the students who participate in the sock drive, names will be entered into a raffle for six flags passes and a MHS 2019-2020 parking space. FBLA and beta points will also be given to students who donate 5 pairs of socks to SOCKS FOR THE BLOCK.

SUMMER SCHOOL INFORMATIONSUMMERSCHOOL
Registration is open for Fulton County Summer School. Please review the documents linked below for the information about important dates, cost, how to register, and more!
Georgia Virtual will also have Summer School Options. Registration for this program will open on April 15, 2019. Visit www.gavirtualschool.org for more information about this program.
If you think your child may need to take a class to get on track for graduation or would like to accelerate, please make sure to get registered as soon as possible.
