Updates from Rob

Approximately eighteen parishioners of St. Thomas have been infected with the coronavirus COVID-19, as well as two family members of parishioners, for a St. Thomas family total of twenty. Most of these individuals are expected to recover fully. Several are still in critical condition. Please continue to pray for your fellow St. Thomas parishioners, and for all the afflicted around the world.

Continuing on the St. Thomas public prayer list are the following individuals:
Palm Sunday:  Your staff hopes to post a Palm Sunday service on FaceBook (and perhaps elsewhere - we’ll let you know) in such a way that you can access it at any time during the day. This service will be different from our live-streaming services, as we hope to include many of you, as parishioners, helping read the Passion. If glitches get in our way as we plan, we will live-stream a simple service on FaceBook. Look for more information on Thursday.  Palms:  Your Flower Guild is going to place palms that have been blessed in front of the church by noon, Friday, so you can pick some up for Palm Sunday.

Holy Week:

Stations of the Cross  will be available for you to use at home at any time during Holy Week. See the St. Thomas FaceBook page.

A simplified Maundy Thursday service will be live-streamed on FaceBook at 7pm, and will include a solemn stripping of an altar.

Good Friday service will be live-streamed on FaceBook at noon, and will follow the prayer book liturgy for Good Friday.

Easter:  Easter services, unless otherwise posted, will be available online at 9:30am, our usual service time. Bishop Brian Thom will live-stream Morning Prayer Easter morning at the cathedral in Boise.

Prayer for a Person Who is Sick
Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant, ____(N), and give your power of healing to those who minister to his/her needs, that he/she may be strengthened in his/her weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Caregivers
Sanctify, O Lord, those whom you have called to the healing profession, particularly during this challenging time of international concern and crisis. Strengthen them buy your life-giving Spirit, that by their ministries, the health of the community may be promoted and your creation glorified. When they are tired, breath strength into their souls; when they find themselves sick, breathe hope and healing into their bodies; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Update on the Rectory

Construction work at the rectory has completely ceased for the time being due to the Covid 19 outbreak. Prior to complete shutdown, our contractor Idaho Mountain Builders had already taken many precautions on the job site to protect workers. A hand washing station was set up outside the front door, and commonly used surfaces such as doorknobs, etc were sanitized throughout the day. Additionally only a few subs were working at once, and those working were in different areas of the house. Work will resume again once we are safely through this difficult period.

Thanks again to all of you who have been and continue to be supportive of this project. Stay healthy!!
