Your Community Brief from Oak Ridge High School
Friday, September 6, 2019
|
We hope everyone stayed safe during the storm. Orange County was very fortunate and sustained little or no damage. Thank you to all the administrators who devoted their time to the schools that were open as shelters - you are truly appreciated.
The administrative staff at Oak Ridge High School decided that they would support each other and all slept over at the school as it served to shelter citizens during the hurricane. We pray for the people of the Bahamas. The devastation is surreal and it will take a long time for them to rebuild.
Due to all schools being closed on Tuesday, September 3rd and Wednesday, September 4th - we will make-up those two days of lost instruction on Friday, October 18th and Monday, November 25th. Please plan accordingly.
Have a wonderful weekend and please remember that we will be issuing 1st quarter progress reports on Monday, September 16th.
With Pioneer Pride,
Ms. Jennifer Bellinger
Principal

No Excuses Mentoring Program
N.E.M.P. steps forward to help the students of Sadler Elementary School
The No Excuses Mentoring Program, led by
Mr. Orlando Norwood, sponsored 7 students in need at
Sadler Elementary School with new school uniforms. We provided everyone with 2 pair of shorts and between 4-7 polo shirts for the 2019-2020 school year.
School uniforms promote safety, equity, school pride, good behavior and support community development. N.E.M.P. works diligently to be positive role models and encourage younger students to persevere through adversities they may face. Thank you again to
Principal Ortiz for allowing us to be a part of the this opportunity!
