Dear Church Family,

I want to express my deepest appreciation for the wonderful welcome you have given me over the last couple of weeks. Your encouraging words have made me feel even more grateful for my appointment here. I truly believe God is at work among us and continues to call this church to be a bright light in the Spartanburg community. I'm also incredibly grateful for the hard work the SPRC has done in organizing the small group sessions I will be leading. I am truly looking forward to the opportunity to meet so many of you over the next several Monday evenings.

Hopefully, this will be a fruitful time of introduction and dialogue. Building on the faithful work of the past, I sincerely believe that God still has a plan and purpose for Central. Opportunities for growth abound, and God's timing for bringing us together inspires me. I am excited and am looking forward to an amazing future of impactful ministry.

Grace and Peace,
Cam

Reflection
Mindfulness

Since Mindfulness has to do with being AWARE of the moment … being in the MOMENT - we must remind ourselves that being present does not only apply to good times or pleasant times. We face moments of sadness, anger, and distress as well. And, if we are being fully mindful, then we must be present to those moments, too.

These are inescapable emotions … we lose things, we do not get what we want, we realize that friends, family and, we, ourselves are flawed as humans. As part of our service, we will be aware of such feelings, as we consider … Can we still practice mindfulness when life presents such moments? Do we try to avoid being ‘mindful,’ when life presents these less than stellar realizations? What might we learn from this awareness of the moment?

Our Prayerful Meditation and Contemplation will be created and shared by Carol McCulloch. She enjoys spending time in her garden, with her rescued Labradoodles, is an active member of numerous organizations in Spartanburg and serves on the S.T.A.R. Planning Council.

A portion of the offering collected has been designated for The Mental Health Association in Spartanburg – honoring Carol for sharing her creative energy as part of the service.

Ways to Give to Central

We continue to be deeply grateful for continued support of the mission and ministry of Central Church. There are a few ways to continue to make offerings extremely easy.

  1. The US mail always works. We are at 233 North Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
  2. Contact Ann Darby to set up a recurring gift through an automatic bank draft.
  3. On the homepage on the church's website there is a "Give" link. Once you set up that app any additional gifts are as easy as one or two clicks.
