A Message from Board Chair, Larry Tucker re: CEO Search

Please read the attached letter from Larry Tucker, SCORE Board Chair, about the CEO search status.
New Support Center Now Available
 
The new Support Center is available for your use at help.score.org as of January 13, 2020. We invite you to go to help.score.org and start using the new site for anything you might have gone to the Volunteer Center for before.

The new SCORE Support Center will replace the Volunteer Center in the coming year. The Support Center combines the best of help.score.org and volunteer.score.org. It will be the central location for all SCORE volunteer resources moving forward. The new Support Center has been in development for several months and has been through several rounds of review with various volunteers and staff.

The current Volunteer Center will remain in place through at least April of 2020. This date can be delayed until the majority of our volunteers feel comfortable with the new site. Please contact volunteer.services@score.org with any questions.

There will also be open Q&A webinars each month for all volunteers, held at the following dates.

Learn about Historically Black Colleges and Universities

As part of the SBA's agenda for serving small business communities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were identified as a potential audience for the SBA and its resource partners. SCORE worked with the Association of Women's Business Centers (AWBC) to produce a webinar for SCORE volunteers and WBC members on how partnering with HBCUs can benefit your chapter and your community, as well as the best ways to do so. 

If you have an HBCU in your community that you are not currently partnered with, and are interested in learning how, please join this webinar. You can register for this webinar here. Additionally, you can find a list of all HBCUs here. If you already do have success with an HBCU partnership, please share it with us at volunteer.services@score.org.

Introducing - Timeline Checklist for Hosting a Women's Conference
 
A checklist for producing a successful event.

We know that SCORE's client base is 61% women. They start businesses at a faster rate than men but sometimes have unique needs and challenges. These conferences cater to this group by offering networking and educational opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

The conferences will build community and give a chapter the opportunity to collaborate with other community partners. There is a huge demand and with SCORE taking a leadership role you can be assured of success. They also are a great avenue to attract new clients and volunteers.

Startup Roadmap Webinar

The new Startup Roadmap is launched and ready to use. Many volunteers are already using this tool to help their clients start their businesses. And the positive responses about the tool are coming in from volunteers and clients alike!   How can you use this powerful tool and lead your chapters to make the most of it? Join us for a 1-hour webinar on Wednesday, February 5th at 2:00 PM ET/ 11:00 AM PT.   We will review how to access the client roadmap and mentor guide. We'll also review new tools developed for field support.

Field Leadership Webinars
Starting in February, there will only be one Field Leadership Monthly Call.  The call for February will be held on February 10th at Noon EST.  As usual, a recording of the call will be available shortly after.

SCORE Zoom Conferencing for Chapters
Did you know SCORE has Zoom accounts for chapters to use when hosting virtual meetings and conference calls? Many chapters are already using their Zoom account to host chapter meetings, committee discussions, and coordinate with other SCORE volunteers across the country.  Regional accounts are also available for RVPs and DDs.
 
Zoom has one-minute video instructions to help you get set up, and lots of other video tutorials right on their website.

Weekly Intacct Webinars
Every Tuesday at 2pm EST, Accounting is holding webinars to walk chapters through Intacct live and to answer questions related to accounting as time allows.  The Zoom platform allows for regular call-ins and the ability to share screens.  The next call is Tuesday, January 28, register here for one or more sessions.
