Pennsylvania Receives $1.2 Million Federal Grant to Promote Maternal and Child Health

Aug. 6, 2021: The Department of Human Services (DHS) announced that Pennsylvania was awarded more than $1.2 million in federal funding to support work towards better health, well-being, and long-term outcomes for pregnant and parenting families of young children. This grant funding, awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration of the federal Department of Health and Human Services, will help DHS’ Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) connect families to this continuum of services that promote positive parenting, early developmental health, and family well-being, including Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) and Early Intervention (EI) programs, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and other programs overseen by other state departments. Sunset Date for Announcement 20 #15

The Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) has announced the sunset date of Sept. 30, 2021, for Announcement 20 #15, Changes to Policy Regarding Parents/Caretakers Caring for Their Own Children in a Child Care Setting During the COVID-19 Pandemic. Read more.
C2P2 EI—Competence and Confidence Partners in Policymaking for Families of Children in Early Intervention

Please share with families you serve that applications are now open for C2P2 EI—Competence and Confidence Partners in Policymaking for Families of Children in Early Intervention

C2P2 EI is an innovative free training program providing family participants with up-to-date information, leadership development training, resources and skills. Participants learn about the local, state and national issues that affect children with disabilities. C2P2EI offers training to help families learn the Early Intervention System and actively participate in their child's team. Virtual and in-person sessions are planned starting Nov. 4, 2021. Alternative options and participant supports will be available if COVID-19 restrictions occur. Application deadline is Oct. 8, 2021.
