Congratulations to this week's Hero Tim Bahadoor. We hope you enjoy your up-close parking spot.
Tim Bahadoor - Middle School Bible Teacher: If those who put themselves last are honored as first, then Tim Bahadoor surely deserves to be honored as a hero. Always concerned about the growth of "these young men and young ladies," Tim speaks straight to their hearts in class and in parent conferences, calling students to be all God meant them to be. And he never forgets to affirm their parents and thank them for entrusting MCS with their children. As a co-worker, Tim takes pleasure in honoring others above himself. Don't ask him to speak in front of chapel! He would much rather pray for and support others who do, but when he does speak, his words have power. Students listen to him and remember.
The first year I started teaching at MCS, Tim strongly and sincerely complimented me and built me up, even before he really knew me. He has been affirming and lifting up the team ever since, and he deserves to be honored today.

Congratulations to Marcus Yoo for Placing 2nd in the 64th Annual OCSEF!
Marcus Yoo, 7th Grade
Congratulations to Marcus Yoo for placing 2nd in the 64th annual OCSEF!
MCS 7th grader Marcus Yoo participated in the Orange County Science and Engineering Fair (OCSEF) on March 21, 2019, along with other 6th through 12th graders
from all over Orange County.
We are ecstatic to celebrate that Marcus won 2nd place in his category of Applied Mechanics / Structures & Mechanisms / Manufacturing. His project
, titled "Gravity Battery"
, seeks to provide electricity and light
, at no cost, by utilizing the power of gravitational
, kinetic energy.
This project required that Marcus design his own gears, and with the help of our school's 3D printer,
he was able to
design, create, and then use his
self-made gravity battery
. And one of the best things about it? The gravity battery works really well!
Along with a cash prize, Marcus has also been invited to
participate in the California Science and Engineering Fair as well as the Broadcom Master's Science Fair in Washington DC!
The hours and dedication to this project definitely were well worth it!
Congratulations Marcus! We know that he would like to thank his parents, teachers at MCS, as well as give all the glory and praise to God for leading and guiding him this far!

Spring Dress Code Reminder
It's springtime - flowers are growing, trees are growing, and your children are growing! Unfortunately, their uniforms can't grow with them, which means the uniform that fit your student at the beginning of the year may no longer fit appropriately now. Please take a few moments this week with your student to make sure their uniforms fit well and still follow middle school dress code guidelines.
As a reminder, skirt hemlines should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee, and pants must be full-length; no folded, shortened, or frayed pant legs.
In addition, given the unusual amount of rainy days we have been experiencing, please keep in mind that all students may wear rain jackets for the rain or MCS sweatshirts. Students may not wear fashion jackets (jean jackets etc.), and only 8th grade students may wear university or DC sweatshirts.
If you have any questions about uniform or dress code guidelines or how these policies are implemented, follow this link to the MS Uniform Guidelines page
here, see our MS Uniform Reminders page
here, or contact Mrs. Niles at
[email protected].
