NEWS ALERT: Coronoavirus Response
ADAW Programs will be Canceled through April 30
Dear Community Members:                                                                        March 12, 2020
Like most organizations, The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of WI (ADAW) has been monitoring developments with COVID-19 (2019 Novel Coronavirus) as the number of confirmed cases in Wisconsin and the U.S continue to rise.

Out of an abundance of caution and consideration of CDC guidelines related to this virus and the population we serve, the ADAW has made the decision to cancel all groups and educational programming for the remainder of March and all of April. While there are only a few confirmed cases in Wisconsin, now is the best time to act in ways that can slow the spread of the virus.

The health of our community and the people that access our programming is our most important priority. If you have questions about COVID-19, please visit the US Centers for Disease Control website. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is also updating information on how the virus is impacting the state regularly.

As we have heard every year when spring approaches the best individual steps we can all take to remain healthy are the following:
  • Frequent and thorough hand-washing with soap and water (wash for 20 seconds).
  • Covering coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoiding touching your face.
  • Staying home when sick.

We will continue to monitor the situation over the next several weeks to make decisions regarding May programming. We will also provide timely and ongoing updates on our website and Facebook.

In the meantime, we are still here to meet individually and with families in need of guidance and resources as well as to take your call. If you have questions or concerns, please get in touch. We’re in this together and here to help!

Executive Director of Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of WI
