A Christ-centered community,
provides excellence in education
to meet the needs of the whole child.
March 18, 2020
Dear OLMC Parents,

Good afternoon!  Now that we have completed Day 2 of our March E-Learning days, I hope that our families have become more accustomed to our online routines and procedures.   Please be assured that the OLMC teachers, staff, and administration intend to be flexible and accommodating with our E-Learning days so you can create a learning environment in your home that is as calm and peaceful as it can be.  The OLMC staff and our OLMC families are all in this together, and the teachers and the administration plan on providing you and your children with the assistance you need as we continue our lessons online. Let us keep each other in prayer so that our trust in the goodness and protection of our heavenly Father will grow deeper each day.

OLMC School would like to keep our spirit of community alive and well during this time of distance learning.  I am sure that the students will start to miss each other. Perhaps even parents might miss the camaraderie that is forged by serving lunch with other parents, volunteering in the school, etc.  However, I do not suspect there are any parents who are sorely missing afternoon carpool!

To this end, I  would like to gather photos of your families engaged in recreational or learning activities and post them to the All Student Edmodo group and/or the Messages from the Mount/social media platforms.  It is our hope that posting these pictures will help everyone stay connected. They could be pictures of the family playing together, praying together, or even working together on an E-Learning Day.  If you would like to participate and send us some fun pictures, please email me at [email protected] .

Tomorrow is the solemnity of St. Joseph, patron of the Universal Church and of fathers.   If your children were at school today, they would have come to school wearing red, the color traditionally associated with St. Joseph Day celebrations.  You are welcome to encourage your children to wear red on tomorrow’s E-Learning Day, as well. Perhap you can take pictures of them in red attire doing their work and then email those pictures to me at the address above.  What a way for everyone to keep up our OLMC school spirit and honor St. Joseph at the same time! If you prefer that your pictures be posted on the OLMC Edmodo platform only, please just let me know and I will post accordingly.

As we prepare ourselves for tomorrow’s solemnity, we remember that St. Joseph was the protector and provider of the Holy Family.  This is an opportune time to remind ourselves that St. Joseph provided Mary and Jesus with the financial means to meet their daily needs.  Please remember to keep up your tithing through online giving or by mailing your contributions so that OLMC parish and school can continue to pay their bills.  Even though our school is proceeding with online learning now, we still need to have the means to pay the bills for our campus buildings, including our school building.  The school is a ministry of the parish, and the collections need to continue and even increase in order for OLMC to be financially solvent. Thank you for supporting our parish financially and prayerfully.

St. Joseph, pray for us!

In His Sacred Heart,
Sister Maria Benedicta, O.P.

March 19
Wear red tomorrow to celebrate! You can even wear your pajamas if you want! Send us pictures of your family in their red shirts at [email protected].

The Parish Dinner is cancelled but you can have one of your own at home. One part of the rich history of this feast is to have a beautifully decorated alter. Have your children make garlands to decorate a table with a picture or statue of St. Joseph. Pray and eat dinner together as a family.
Outdoor Spring Camp Postponed:
Mrs. Downey & Mrs. Cronkhite's Outdoor Spring Camp originally scheduled for March 25 is postponed. They will communicate the re-scheduled date when we return to school.
