Wednesday, April 3d, 2019
No Host Bar starts at 6:00 p.m.
Dinner starts at 7.p.m.

We are only weeks away from departure time for the crew of  Betsy's Biscuit Bomber , C-47B, as they head off into the wild blue yonder skies of the northwest United States and on to Europe for participation with  DAKS Over Normandy . We have two speakers for the April 3rd Estrella Warbirds Museum dinner/meeting. Sherman Smoot, past EWM president, will present plans to fly the museum's Gooney Bird Group's C-47 on world tour leaving Paso on May 6 and returning on July 9. This WWII veteran aircraft will take part in a paratrooper drop over Normandy during the 75th anniversary of D-Day. The second speaker is Allen Simmons Jr., LtCol, USAF (retired), whose father participated in the original D-Day invasion while flying a C-47. Allen Jr. also piloted C-47s during the Vietnam war. He will discuss those experiences.

Yes, it is the same Huey!
UH-1D Huey

The winter rains have not stopped any of the restoration going on at the museum.  It won't be long before the UH-1D Huey, which has been in the fleet for many years, will have completed the restoration efforts returning it to the original color scheme and markings she had during her tenure in Viet Nam. The entire restoration crew has done an incredible job and are in the finish stages for the interior.  Plans call for completion prior to the first of May.  Stay tuned!

Warbirds Wings & Wheels 11 & Swap Meet, May 11th

Registrations have been rolling in for one of the largest EWM events of the year!  This year will bring changes and expansion! The swap meet will be held on our new property, adjacent to the museum, keeping everything centrally located (plus added parking space!)    Not only will Monte Mills and the Lucky Horseshoe Band be playing for the Friday night dinner/dance, he will also be providing live music during the car show.  New this year will be three separate presentations by the Stuntmasters and BMX Impact! Totally Awesome!  Plus, bring the earplugs for another Cackle Fest featuring vintage Drag Racers! You could win a trip for two to Jay Leno's Big Dog Garage.
