Like many businesses, Maker Works is struggling with the best response to the COVID-19 crisis. Because many of our members rely on the shop for part or all of their livelihood, at the moment we will remain open.
However, it is absolutely critical to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Washtenaw County as much as possible, so we ask that you not come in unless you have a strong need to. And not to come in if you feel at all sick or have been exposed to the virus in the last 14 days.
Asking our members, our friends, not to come into the shop is the last thing we want to do. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as possible.
What about memberships? We will of course credit your membership as needed.
We are ramping up our disinfection routine (sorry about the cleanser smell), and want to remind everyone in the shop to wash hands often, don’t touch your face, and minimize close contact. (Like everyone else, we're still working on a good alternative to a handshake.)
We deeply appreciate every one of your friends, relatives, and co-workers you send our way, but we’re stopping tours of the shop for the moment.
Likewise, we need to put our classes and consulting on hiatus. (If you are already signed up for a class, we’ll hold that class.)
We’re also cancelling or postponing upcoming events, including Fix-It Fridays. Yes, Irene will show off paper-making eventually! It will be worth the wait.
As the situation develops over time, we'll keep you updated on
our website
and
Facebook page
. If you have any questions, email us or give us a call at 734-222-4911.
Thanks for making Maker Works such a great place to be. We really appreciate it!
