Saturday Critique Group
The Critique Group will meet March 28, 1:30-3:30pm at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church (NW Hills UMC) , 7050 Village Center Dr, Austin ( Enter through the office door where awning is. Come to Room 101 – first room off the reception desk after you come in the door) . The March Open Mic will be 4th Thursday, March 26, 5-6:40pm at the NeWorlDeli, 4101 Guadalupe St, Austin. NeWorlDeli is now booking music for the last slot, so APS has been bumped to the earlier slot.

APS Member Profile
Jeffrey L. Taylor is the MuseLetter editor. His first submitted poems won 1st place and runner-up in Riff Magazine's 1994 Jazz and Blues Poetry Contest. Encouraged, he continues to write and has been published in the di-vêrsé-city anthology, Yale University's The Perch, Gathering Storm Magazine, Red River Review, Illya's Honey, theEnchantment of the Ordinary anthology, the 2020 Texas Poetry Calendar, Blue Hole, and Once Upon a Crocodile. Serving as sensei (instructor) to small children and professor to graduate students has taught him humility.

Black Lawrence 2020 Hudson Prize is now open for submissions! Each year Black Lawrence Press Hudson Prize is awarded for an unpublished collection of poems or short stories. The prize is open to new, emerging, and established writers. The winner of this contest will receive book publication, a $1,000 cash award, and ten copies of the book. Prizes are awarded on publication. The deadline is March 31. Submit your manuscript here.
