Dear CCGS Families,
Although our week was short, it was definitely not uneventful! Thank you to all of the families that joined us for parent teacher conferences this week. The format was different, but it still allowed us to share the great work and growth we have seen with your student during first quarter. We had a wonderful week of great weather, but we know this will not last long. Please make sure you send hats and gloves for your child as the weather cools down. We will still be going outside daily. This week I had a great time teaching Ms. Strait's class a new recess game, listening to Ms. Foster's classroom share their math towers and compare the greater than and less than numbers with me, and hosting Mr. Andres's class morning meeting. Ms. Gambro's students shared their reading and writing goals with me and they were so proud of the progress they have made. We are excited to be celebrating and thanking our Veteran's next week with our virtual Veteran's Day assembly on November 11th. This will be sent out in an email next week for all to watch at a time that is most convenient to you.

Please add any November pictures you take to this album . If you click on the album you can watch the October Learning Video that was created. Thank you so much for sharing your at home pictures with us!

I hope you have a great weekend with your family!
Mrs. Hamm

Ms. Lindner’s Classroom Highlight

Hi Foxes Families! We have been having so much fun with our learning here at Circle! When I asked the students what their favorite things have been so far, they shared how much they loved seeing their friends and playing at recess, how excited they were to celebrate Halloween with their friends at school and see their families in the parade, and how proud they were that they were starting to read more challenging books and learn new addition and subtraction strategies. I know I’m super proud of their efforts and have loved seeing their faces every day!

This week with conferences approaching, we did some reflecting on our previous goals and looked ahead to quarter 2 for our new goals. Some future goals include working on addition and subtraction fact fluency, which we’re working on in our MobyMax on our chromebooks and through fun math games with partners in class. And they’re looking looking forward to reading even more challenging books as we learn more reading strategies. They’re so motivated!

We finished up some fun holiday activities about bats, spiders, and pumpkins. In Reading this week we read Duck for President and talked about good characteristics of leaders in our community. We then did a vote based on the story of if we’d choose Duck or Farmer Brown as the leader of the farm. In writing we’re diving into narratives and reading examples, and then coming up with our own ideas of exciting stories we’d like to tell about our lives! In math students are now working on addition and subtraction to 20, and it’s great to see this picking up so quickly as they’re using strategies they’ve learned in first quarter of how to add and subtract to 10.

I’m so proud of this class :)!
Warmest Regards, Mrs. Lindner
