In these challenging times, we wanted to reach out to you about what The Children's Hunger Project is doing to support local school children with receiving weekend meals. We are partnering with Brevard Public Schools to bridge the weekend food gap and we will continue to feed children by providing weekend food packets at the schools listed below.

The Children’s Hunger Project will provide our weekend food packages to BPS designated sites on Fridays, beginning March 27th.
We are looking for volunteers to come to our office at 1855 W. King Street in Cocoa, to pick up boxes of our food packages, deliver and distribute at the BPS designated schools. You must sign up . For more information and to volunteer, please see the following links for March 27th and April 3rd.

Update from Brevard Public Schools and our Governor:

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that K-12 schools statewide will remain closed until April 15. Brevard Public Schools announced the following 13 schools will open as food distribution centers beginning Monday 23 - Friday April 15, from 10:30am- 1:30pm. (If dates, locations and times shift, we will update you.)

Meals will be distributed to any child age 18 years and younger. Each child will receive a package containing one breakfast meal and one lunch meal.

Children may come without a parent and will be served. However, parents/guardians who come, must have the children present with them in order to receive meals for those children per USDA requirements.

To ensure social distancing, BPS requests that parents drive in to the bus loop and release their trunk; a BPS employee will place one meal package per child in the trunk of the vehicle.

Parents/Guardians and/or children on foot will be served, however, social distancing will also be adhered to in this situation.

The cafeteria and other school buildings will NOT be opened to parents and students.
JERSEY MIKE'S UPDATE
One of most consistent supporters, Jersey Mike's Subs, has issued an update for their Month of Giving. Guests can place take-out orders, or pick them up. Third-party delivery orders are also available. Donations can be made using their app, or onsite when picking up orders. This year's Day of Giving on Wednesday, March 25 is cancelled . Your Pie Day
Due to Coronavirus, Your Pie has extended their fundraiser for TCHP through this Friday, March 20th by using their app.

Due to the uncertainty of what this coronavirus means to all of us, we have taken on the expense to make every effort to procure additional food from our distributors , to ensure we can continue to feed hungry kids in Brevard for the duration of this pandemic.
