Worshipping with St. Martin's is a good way to start your week with God and one another, and you can do it from ANYWHERE!
Saint Martin's
Trunk or Treat was a HUGE SUCCESS!
Saint Martin's Drive Through Trunk or Treat was a big success. We had 11 decorated trunks plus Marlene and her scare-crow stationed near the sanctuary entrance accepting sock donations to help support our local homeless population. Approximately 68 bags of candy were handed out to kids that visited our trunk or treat! Thank you to all the volunteers who decorated their trunks and contributed their time to this event.
Teaching during the Pandemic
Teaching during the pandemic has added an extra burden to the teachers of our community by asking them to provide their own sanitizer, wipes and PPE. Are you one of these teachers, and needs help? Please reach out to Alison at RandyAli@aol.com.
Keeper of the Light
There is a light at St. Martin's that never goes out. We call it the "Sanctuary Light". It reminds us of the presence of Christ who is with us always. During this time when we are not able to be in our building, members of the parish have been taking turns caring for the light in their own home and then passing it on to another member for the next week, until we can all be together again in the church building. If you would like to be the "Keeper of the Light" for a week, email Philip with the subject "Candle" at philip.muniz@gmail.com.
Stewardship
Recently you should have received a pledge card in the mail.

Consecration Sunday is November 15th. Your pledge supports St. Martin's and all the good work that we do in our community. So far 15 families have pledged $45,000. Get your pledges in this week so we can celebrate your generosity.

During the Zoom Service on the 15th, there will be a special presentation which will highlight all the things that have been going on with St. Martin's, even through the pandemic.
Fall Clean Up at St. Martin's Church was also a SUCCESS!
Thanks to many hands we had a great clean-up at the church. We were able to dismantle the old split-rail fencing and cut it up. There is a small pile of wood beside the garage at the church if anyone needs it for their fireplace. We were also able to fell some dead trees, remove ivy as well as do some plantings. Thanks to all who helped!
EMAIL ALISON at randyali@aol.com if you have anything to put in this newsletter.
Outreach
In celebration of St. Martin’s Day, outreach will be collecting WARM WINTER COATS AND JACKETS on November 15th. Gently used children’s winter coats and jackets will be donated to FISH. The adult jackets and coats will be donated to a senior shelter in Trenton. In addition to the coats, the seniors could use warm winter clothing, including slacks, sweaters, flannel shirts, night clothes, etc. We are not looking for fancy clothes, dresses, suits, etc. We are asking that the children’s coats and jackets be put in separate bags. The adult clothes and coats can be put in the same bags. We are asking this so we will be able to place the appropriate bags in two cars for delivery. We will be in the parking lot of St. Martin’s between noon and 2:00 p.m.

We would also like to thank all who donated socks for the homeless in Somerville. The Reformed Church was very appreciative of the quantity of socks donated. Plus, we received enough children’s socks that we will be making a donation to FISH.

Also, thank you for the donation of casseroles for SHIP. Last Wednesday night St. Martin’s volunteers served over 30 hot meals to the needy in Manville. The demand was so great that we ran out of hot food. Please keep SHIP in mind when you are making decisions about monetary donations.
