James Robert Edwards, 86, of Rittman, died Thursday, November 15, 2018, at his home.
Jim was born August 9, 1932, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Sherman and Margaret Malone Edwards.
He graduated from Wadsworth High School. Jim served in the U.S. Army.
He married Nora "Nory" Sparks on September 3, 1955. She passed on October 7, 2005.
He was a pipe fitter for Ford Motor Company, and also owned his own business, Rittman Mechanical. James belonged to the American Legion, and the Rittman Moose Lodge. He was a social butterfly, but always put his family first.
Jim will be deeply missed by his children, William (Susie) Keefer, Mark Edwards, Lane (Larraine) Edwards, Lisa Edwards, and Steven (Whitney) Edwards; grandchildren, Billy, Renee, Shira, Shane, Jessica, Jacob, Sarah, Jamie, Lane, Laura, Nora, and Hattie; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick (Roberta) Edwards, and Art (Barb) Keefer; sister Donna Maxon; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years; his parents; his son, Mike, his brother, Robert Keefer, and his niece, Debbie.
Friends may call Tuesday, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Sparks officiating.
