Break and Lunch
Garces Family,

We are excited to announce a new partnership with On Point Services. They understand your student's needs and actually developed the menu with student input. Many parents have asked for an online option to pre-order food items and we are beginning that program this year. We hope this new partnership is what you have been looking for in our cafeteria program. There is a box on the online portal to add suggestions and On Point Services is happy to take those questions.

Now onto the big question! How will break and lunch work once we return to campus? Like all things, we have had to reconfigure how break and lunch will look this year. We have implemented an online portal to allow students buying lunch through the cafeteria the ability to pre-order. While food will still be available if you forget to pre-order, we ask students to pre-order their break and lunch options as much as possible to help decrease the number of people entering and exiting the cafeteria.

Please note, the cafeteria will open starting November 3rd. October 28th through November 2nd, the student store will be open during break for students to purchase snacks and lunch will be provided to the students on campus.

Additionally, due to COVID-19 and in the interest of our students' safety, we will not allow lunch drop-offs for the time being. This is a part of our reopening guidelines. We understand this is not ideal, but we have to limit the number of visitors on campus to as little as possible. If, for any reason, your student has no way of getting lunch on any given day, please let us know and we will make sure he or she gets fed.

How to pre-order break food and lunch options:
Garces Memorial High School has partnered with On Point Food Services and Boonli to provide a secure, fast, and easy-to-use online ordering system. Boonli allows you to view our lunch menu, order, prepay and manage student lunches from a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Students who want to buy breakfast or à la carte options need to submit their order the DAY BEFORE.

Students who wish to buy lunch on campus need to submit their lunch order through Boonli TWO DAYS in advance.

How to order lunch

What if I forget to submit a food order, but still need something at break or lunch?
If a student forgets to pre-order, we will still have options available for purchase in the cafeteria. We ask students to pre-order to help keep the crowds in and around the cafeteria to a minimum.

Where will students eat?
On the first day back for each class, students will be allowed to pick their eating spot. Spots must comply with 6-foot social distancing regulations. This spot will be recorded, and students must eat in the same spot every day. This will be the spot they eat at during break and lunch. This is for contact tracing purposes. All outside tables have been removed. However, students can bring their own lawn chair or blanket to sit on during break and lunch. Chairs and blankets cannot be shared.

Do students have to wear masks during break and lunch?
Masks are required at all times, except when eating. Once a student is finished eating, they must put their mask back on. When masks are on, students are free to move about and socialize with friends.

We cannot wait to have everyone back on campus! As always, if you have any questions please contact Principal Myka Peck.
