Dear Alumni,

I am pleased to share with you the spring 2019 edition of Interactions , a newsletter from the Department of Sociology and Criminology.

Our faculty and students have been busy with a variety of topical academic activities and accomplishments. These include Meredith Bergey, PhD, and Megan Burke '21 CLAS who organized a panel discussion on the stigma of mental health and Rory Kramer, PhD, and Brianna Remster, PhD, who recently published a piece in the Law and Society Review journal about their research on the links between police stop and frisk behavior and police violence.

We hope you enjoy this and other updates in the latest edition of Interactions , including:

  • A message from the chair
  • "A Foundation in Criminal Justice" by Gregory Laudadio ’14 CLAS, ’17 JD
  • "Measuring Bias in Police Violence" by Rory Kramer, PhD
  • "A Conversation on Mental Health and Stigma" Meredith Bergey, PhD
