PRESIDENT's EXHAUST:

Hello again,

Oh for some warm weather! All this snow and cold weather has gotten me, and I am sure many of you, into severe Corvette withdrawal! I am about ready to go out in the garage to $it in our Grand Sport and make loud engine noises!

Enough on the weather - I am sure you have received the email blast with the proposed amendments to the Club Bylaws. These proposed amendments are pretty straightforward and are intended to provide clarity for the EBoard and for the membership of RCC going forward.

The first amendment will allow the EBoard to grant full membership rights to Honorary Life members on a case by case basis because as the Bylaws are currently written an Honorary Life Member is prohibited from voting or holding elective office.

The second amendment will allow the EBoard to direct the Treasurer to securely dispose of outdated financial records of the Club in accordan$e with IRS and other applicable rules and guidelines.

The third amendment will allow the EBoard to undertake electronic distribution of documents to all RCC members when, and if, the EBoard develops a distribution plan that assures the security of any such document. Until a secure distribution plan is in place no documents will be distributed electronically.

The fourth amendment will make certain the EBoard and the Events Committee are apprised of and are consulted in planning for all Club events initiated by any Club member(s).

With all that said let's all hope for some sunshine so we get out and enjoy our Vettes!

Have fun and drive safe!

Cheers,

Cy Wilsey
2019 President

From the Editor...

I wish this cold and snow would go back to Alaska where it belongs.
Hope you like the funnies I try to place in the newsletter.  We need something to laugh about once in a while. Send me your favorites.
I have made minor changes to the website including finalizing the contact us form.  I have actually received a couple of inquires from the form so it is working now.  If you use the Chrome browser you may have noticed in the address bar the site is marked a not secure.  I am looking at ways to fix that without paying GoDaddy $74.99/year.
Under the member$ tab, there is a member cars page which is incomplete.  My thoughts for this page is to have a gallery as it does now but also links to interesting stories from our members about their cars, how they got them, something they did with them, whatever.  There is an example of the type of thing I am thinking in the article about the most expensive capapuccino Ed Welburn ever bought here.  Looking forward to comments and suggestions on this project.
I am still looking for car of the month photos

This months car belongs to Phil and Becky Souza.

2019 Corvette Caravan & National Corvette Museum 25th Anniversary Celebration

2019 Caravan, NCM 25th Anniversary Celebration, & Hall of Fame Induction

August 28 - August 31, 2019

NCM Ambassador Corner
Did you know - there is still time to register for the 2019 Corvette Caravan / 25 th NCM Anniversary celebration in Bowling Green, Ky!!! Just click on the NCM website to register and view all of the planned activities in BG from August 28 to September 1. YTD there are 14 RCC Corvettes and 28 members registered for the entire trek to BG. However members can participate with the caravan and travel part of the route. On Thursday August 22, the first Mid Pa$ific Caravan stop will be 12:30pm at Michael Hohl in Carson, City for lunch. All RCC members are encouraged to attend to meet and greet the arrival of Corvette owners from California.
As you browse the NCM website there is a on line store with many museum and Corvette items. If you ever wanted to obtain a copy of your "window sticker" or "build sheet" you can order original copies of the docs - which is cool to see the options installed at the factory in BG. The docs can be ordered on a variety of media platforms from paper to metal etching. These make great gift$ to a owner. In addition you may want to obtain a quote from NCM insurance. Several RCC members have saved hundred of dollars for equivalent auto insurance -check it out. In addition you can join the NCM as a member starting at $50 annually. There are many benefits including discounts on items purchased from the mueusm and a quarterly newsletter with many informative Corvette articles.
Earlier this year the EBoard approved funding for a club banner to hang at the NCM on a parking lot light pole. Below is the artwork, designed by Jeff Houk, with input from club members. The banner will be hung for one year beginning in July 2019, which will be viewed by all caravan participants. After the year the banner will be sent to the Club. So keep your eyes open when you visit the NCM. If you have any questions on the Caravan or NCM please feel free to contact me

Sweetheart Dance - Tamarack Junction

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, was the weather of the night for the     February 9, 2019 event at the Tamarack casino. Several Club members were not able to join the event due to the poor road conditions. But the forty-eight members who did attend, enjoyed a social hour in the Cave room of Scully's Sports bar with appetizers and their favorite beverage. The large screen displayed the last quarter of the UNR Basketball game that the Wolf Pack won! After which members were treated to the 45th RCC Anniversary video taken at Mt Rose ski resort at Winter's Creek Lodge. (85 Corvettes with over 160 members, is considered the Club's largest event on record).
At 6:00pm members retired to the Banquet room for a tasteful and plentiful dinner including a choice of salads, Prime rib, chicken, salmon, pasta and a large variety of desserts. Due to the large volume of food members were offered doggie bags to take food home. As the evening progressed cash door prizes comprising of three $40 and one $80 were won by cub members. Thanks to Carolina Houk and Andrea Mejia who assisted in the drawings.
The evening mu$ic was provided by DJ Felipe who played love songs during the dinner and then cranked up the dancing music. He played all 15 requested songs and other favorites from the 60s, - 90s which delighted members up to the final song "last Dance" by Donna Summers, which concluded the party at 10:00pm. DJ Felipe was such a big hit he has already been booked for the December 2019 Club Christmas party! IF you missed this fun event many more are planned for 2019 - just check out the event$ schedule and consider attending a upcoming RCC activity. Hope to see you at an event.

VetteChicks Luncheon
Feb 19, 2019
La Vecchia Italian Ristorante

VetteChicks are not faint of heart, we had a wonderful turnout at La Vecchia. I am $ure all of us were ready to be out and about after all the snow we have received this month.

All of us that did attend were treated to wonderful lunch. Including Assorted Wood-fired pizzas, salad, and 3 choices for entrees ( Mushroom ravioli, Grilled salmon filet and Chicken Parmigiana ) which made our decisions difficult. This fabulous lunch was finished with a marvelous piece of Tiramisu'. The portions were generous and many left with delightful morsels to take home.

Remember that our luncheon on March 19th features All You Can Eat Tacos for only $10.99. But you will not be limited to Tacos as your only choice!! You may order off the menu and we will have separate checks.

I am in the planning stages of our next 3 months-a sneak peak of these choices are Twisted Fork, The Depot, Grimaldi's and the list of deja vu choices just keeps on adding up.

See everyone on March 19th at Cantina Los Tress Hombres at The Legends, across from the Galaxy Theatre.
