ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Australia
March 2019
|
Dear Business Partners and Friends of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA,
Despite the recent slowdown in private construction activities, the construction sector continues to be one of the key drivers of the Australian economy. Innovation and cost efficiency are characteristic features of the latest developments in residential and commercial construction, and in facility management.
Consequently, we are proud that more and more Austrian construction startups are making their way into the Australian market. Following their ACA 'Technological Innovation of the Year' award in 2018,
Plan Radar, a developer of software and apps for documentation, task & defect management, has rapidly expanded its customer base in Australia and New Zealand.
Insider Navigation, another Austrian pioneer, makes the world more accessible by using AR to navigate indoors in places such as airports, factories and warehouses. After a number of successful meetings all over Australia they are excited to continue their growth in Oceania.
A great opportunity to learn more about recent developments in the Austrian construction and urban technology sector and to create valuable business connections is the Future of Building taking place in Vienna on June 4 - 5, 2019. The attendance of this conference, focusing on prefabricated buildings and sustainable implications in the construction sector, includes presentations, B2B meetings and a number of site visits to experience recent developments first hand, such as the tallest timber building, prebuilt solutions for schools and universities and other current projects first hand.
Another occasion to enhance the relationships between our countries in the construction
sector and a great way to meet some of Austria's outstanding exporters are trade shows on both sides of the Tasman Sea. Sydney Build (13-14 March 2019) and BuildNZ (23-25 June
2019) are excellent platforms to connect, and we are very much looking forward to making introductions to the
participating companies
.
On the topic of our Hidden Champions, we are proud to highlight
Australia's tallest engineered timber office building
25 King Street
designed by Bates Smart and developed by Lendlease - built using both glulam and CLT made in Austria.
We are thrilled to answer any queries and are more than happy to help you organize your participation in the Future of Building in June. Please contact
Kerstin, whom I welcome to our team as specialist for construction and infrastructure. We are looking forward to talking to you!
Best regards,
Karl Hartleb Kerstin Klein
