APDA ADVOCACY NEWS

Novitas R Code Update: APDA's lobbying partner, Chris Sarley from CGA has been in conversation with Senator Toomey's office. We have learned that Novitas reports it will reconcile its Survey Monkey and PXR industry results by November, at which time it will issue new rates. To date, APDA is waiting for the Novitas November response.

Ask for Additional Covid Cost Reimbursement: CGA is in the process of seeking reimbursement from CMS for the new code 99072 approved by AMA. This code is intended to cover additional supplies, materials, and clinical staff time over and above those usually included in an office visit or other non-facility service(s), when performed during a Public Health Emergency as defined by law, due to respiratory-transmitted infectious disease. APDA has joined many other health care providers as they also ask CMS to approve reimbursement.

2021 6% Medicare reimbursement cut: CGA has submitted a comment letter asking CMS to remove portable diagnostic codes from the 6% cut. The letter also incorporates ideas from NASL (National Association for the support of Long Term Care) explaining in detail how these cuts will negatively impact long term care and the elderly.
