Sure signs of summer are days at the pool and vacations, but it’s also a time when roadwork and other construction projects can be found around town. These projects are vitally important to ensure our infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks and sewers, is maintained and fortified for the future. New information from the Desplaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District, suggests a rise in the production of mosquitoes involved in the transmission of West Nile Virus (WNV). The District notes that while the risk of WNV transmission is still low at this time, amplification of WNV within the adult mosquito population has increased.
