Catholic Identity
I hope you are getting excited about Catholic Schools Week, I know we are around here. Our Student Council has taken a big lead on many of the new events we have scheduled. I hope you will be able to participate in many of the activities and help us to celebrate what makes our school special.

Please join us for 11:00 Mass. Students attending Mass in uniform will receive the golden out of uniform ticket to use sometime during the month of February (not a Mass day!). Following Mass until 2:00 is our Open House. You are invited to come and visit your child's classroom and see the amazing things going on at Mary Queen. Please bring a friend to our Open House - you all are our best marketers! Thank you for spreading the good word.

Skittle Day! It is going to be a very colorful day today. Not only will we be doing some guessing with color but we will also be colorful in our dress. Each child is asked to wear or bring a solid color (or as solid color as you can get) shirt with their uniform bottoms. We will be taking our school wide picture today.
Grades 7 and 8 - wear red
Grades 5 and 6 - wear orange
Grades 3 and 4 - wear yellow
Grades 1 and 2 - wear green
Grades PreK and K - wear Purple
We will begin our collection for God's Pantry today. Please bring your donations directly to the classrooms first - we are having a contest so you want to make sure that everything is counted.

STEM Day! We will be completing our STEM projects today with our buddies. We are still in need of a LOT of NEWSPAPER. Please drop off your donations in the office or you can take it directly to the Science Lab. Bring in a donation of socks today for the homeless - you won't want to miss today's sock throw challenge!

Dress like your teacher day! How fun is this going to be, students should come dressed like one of their teachers - keep a watch, there may be a few teachers dressed like students. Please bring a book or DVD to donate to Habitat for Humanity. The books or DVDs should be appropriate for the age of your child.
Thursday, January 30
Panther Palooza! Need I say more? Forms will be coming out next week to sign up for the social event of the year. And because the day will not be crazy enough, students may wear crazy socks and/or crazy hats to school on Thursday. Our donation today will be a penny war, any money collected will be sent to Transylvania University to support their sack project for the animals in Australia.
Family Mass Day today, please join us for school Mass at 8:15.
