David Risberg Memorial
Grant Challenge

David Risberg was an avid outdoorsman with a love of hunting and fishing, and an abiding interest in preservation, conservation and management of natural resources.  A memorial grant program has been set up to provide funding to CFM's affiliated organizations to take action on conservation projects.

David's parents, John and Mary, have set up a challenge for this fund and will match every dollar raised up to $50,000.  Please consider donating today to these boots on the ground projects that are funded in his honor.

Governor's Turkey Hunt

The Governor's Youth Turkey Hunt has been a very successful event over the last 11 years and serves both as a celebration of Missouri's leading role in providing outdoor recreational opportunity as well as recruiting and retaining additional outdoor enthusiasts. This hunt is a cooperative effort between Governor Mike Parson, the Conservation Federation of Missouri, National Wild Turkey Federation, the Missouri Department of Conservation, elected officials from the capital, and a host of private landowners and other volunteers.

Deadline to apply is March 20th.  If you would like to refer a youth that may enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity or for more information, click HERE.

Convention 2020

Beginning Today!

We hope you will be joining us for our largest event of the year, the 84th Annual Convention.  It will be a weekend of networking, awards, a banquet dinner, silent and live auctions, and be a part of our resolution process.

Chronic Wasting Disease

Please join CFM and MDC for a brief update on the current status of Chronic Wasting Disease in Missouri.  The mini symposium will be held Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in the Springfield Room in the Capitol Plaza Hotel. Topics will include a brief update on 2019/2020 surveillance efforts, potential upcoming regulation changes and a glimpse into the future. The program will be 20-30 minutes followed by 30-40 minutes of Q&A.

From Our Blog

See you at Convention!

By Tyler Schwartze

There are three branches of government - Legislative (makes the law), Executive (carries out the law), and Judicial (interprets the law).  Beautifully simple, and with inherent checks and balances, the primary way our democratic system of government works. The annual convention is upon us and we truly hope that you, as a vocal and supportive member, plan to take part in this monumental event. Convention truly embodies the mission of our outdoor heritage and what our storied organization is all about. Advocacy, Education and Partnerships. If you're not familiar with our mission, please read 2nd Vice President Richard Mendenhall's article in our March/April issue of the Conservation Federation magazine (page 28).

Don't Poach Conservation!

Oppose HJR 100

Thank you to all who have taken action and showed up at the Capitol hearing to oppose HJR 100.  Although we had nearly 100 people stand and represent conservation in Missouri to oppose this resolution and zero citizens showed up in support, it still passed out of committee with a vote of 6-3.   We will update you when the next action will be taken in this lengthy process.

Please continue contacting your friends and fellow conservationists and encourage them to contact their Representatives to Oppose HJR 100.  You can also join our social media campaign by sharing your conservation stories using the hashtag, #naturecantvote.  We believe science should guide the conservation of Missouri's bird, fish, game, forestry and all wildlife resources of the state, not politics.
