The Alliance Working in Kentucky: Sasakawa USA hosts fourth installment of TAWA series
Sasakawa USA will underline the importance of the U.S.-Japan relationship by taking a delegation of experts from Washington, DC, to Kentucky from March 5-7 as part of its fourth installment of
The Alliance Working in America (TAWA) series.
As on previous TAWA programs, Sasakawa USA is partnering with local universities, businesses, non-profit, and Japan-related organizations for events and activities.

Celebrating U.S.-Japan friendship as symbolized by Japan's gift of cherry blossom trees, Sasakawa USA will present an innovative public discussion in Washington, DC, on April 2. "U.S.-Japan Leadership and Collaboration in Emerging Technologies" will feature a panel of Silicon Valley experts discussing technology trends in the United States and Japan with a focus on technologies surrounding autonomous vehicles.
The event will be held as part of the 2019 National Cherry Blossom Festival and will take place in the Mayflower Hotel's District Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.

On February 13, Sasakawa USA hosted LtGen Lawrence Nicholson (USMC, ret.), former Commander of the III Marine Expeditionary Force (2015-2018), for a Policy Lunch Series event on "Security Threats in the Western Pacific: A Former III MEF Commander's Perspective." Nicholson's talk focused on emerging regional threats that have shaped the development of U.S.-Japan cooperation in security and defense. Chris Rodeman, Research Fellow at Sasakawa USA, moderated the discussion.
