Congratulations to this week's Heroes Sam and Kim. We hope you enjoy your up-close parking spot.
Sam Brooks, Middle School PE Teacher
Sam Brooks is such a sweet, kind, caring, co-worker. She happily teaches many grades every day (not to mention yearbook as well) and never appears to be stressed or in a bad mood. She manages it all so well. Her gentle ways are admirable and truly God's blessing through her to all of us. She is willing to jump in and help whenever and however she can and consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty! She is such a helper to Paulette and she always models being a team player. Have we even noticed how many teams have brought home championships under her leadership? Yay! Not that we play for the prize, but it proves her humility to not overspeak about the "wins". It is clear that she teaches and models that to our student athletes and guides them in humility, striving for their personal best, and representing God well! She is organized and is constantly at work to help manage the very active athletic life of MCS. We are so thankful for Sam! She is a hero!
Kim Wilson, Third Grade Teacher It is such a privilege to work alongside you. Your dedication to your own education is so inspirational to us, and it will surely help your students grow. Your passion for your work is evident. You are raising a beautiful family while also investing in the future of education. Thank you for all you do. Love, The Second Grade Team

New Law to Go Into Effect July 1, 2019
There have been recent changes to school entry immunization requirements that go into effect July 1, 2019. We are sharing these changes with you so that you may work with your child's healthcare provider to make sure your child is vaccinated (California Code of Regulations Title 17, Division 1, Chapter 4.) There has been the addition of a second Varicella vaccine requirement for entry into elementary school at Transitional Kindergarten (TK)/Kindergarten (K) and/or seventh grade, administered by a licensed California Healthcare Practitioner.
Grade Number of Doses Required of Each Immunization

5 DTaP
3 Hep B
2 MMR
2 Varicella
7th-12th Grade

California schools are required by law to check the immunization records for all new student admissions at TK/Kindergarten through 12th grade and all students advancing to 7th grade before entry. Students meeting all immunization requirements will be unconditionally admitted to school. Students may also be unconditionally admitted if they have a permanent medical exception in accordance with Section 6051. Your child may receive the necessary vaccines from his/her primary care practitioner or pharmacy. It is important to get your child vaccinated early so there will be no issue with school entry. Please make sure you bring your child's vaccine record to the school so it may be on file. Should you have questions, please contact the MCS Health office or your child's health care provider.

Chapel Recap
Middle school students were blessed to have renowned, worldwide speaker Christine Caine share her heart with us at Chapel this week. Christine captivated our students with personal stories of her own experiences. These stories took us on a journey filled with laughter, broken hearts, redemption, and joyful hope! Christine spoke truth into our students that regardless of how challenging life can be, in Jesus Christ we have the hope and power to overcome the past and move into the life of joy and fullness that He promises to all of His children.
Twister Tournament
This week our Homeroom Competition came in the form of a Twister Tournament! 1 boy and 1 girl were chosen from each homeroom to participate in the challenge! The boys and girls who won their grade level round moved onto the championship round where we crowned 2 boys and 2 girls as Twister titleholders! Congratulations to Jack Morris, Brock Ketchum, Sarah Hammond, and Olivia Morris for contorting your way to victory!!!
