Mayor Tim Haak's Monthly Update

In February, St. Vincent, Zionsville Fire Dpeartment and the Boone County Sheriff's Office came to Town Hall to launch PulsePoint in Boone County.

PulsePoint is an app that alerts CPR trained individuals if someone has gone into cardiac arrest close to their location. Informed at the same time as emergency responders, bystanders are given detailed instructions and can begin hands-only CPR until responders arrive.

The app also directs these potential rescuers to the exact location of the closest AED.

According to Dr. Stephanie Gardner of St. Vincent, who spoke at the launch, chances of survival from cardiac arrest decrease 10 percent every minute that you go un-aided. It's really those first few minutes that are going to make a difference.

Boone County is the seventh county in Indiana to implement PulsePoint. We hope you will download this free app so that Boone County can be a well-connected community.

Thanks for your time,

Tim Haak
