Communion Statement
The Lord's Supper is celebrated here in the confession and glad confidence that our Lord, as He says, gives not only bread and wine, but His very body and blood to eat and drink for the forgiveness of sin. In joyful obedience to the clear teaching of our Lord Jesus those are invited to His table who trust His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us. They show forth His death until He comes. Because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and so are unable to receive the Sacrament are invited to meditate on God's Word in the distribution hymns and pray for the day when divisions will have ceased.

Congratulations, Graduates!
All 2021 High School and College/Grad School graduates are invited and encouraged to attend either the 8:00 or 10:30 service on June 13. Wear your cap & gown and we will seat you together so that we may give thanks to God for His work in your accomplishments. We will gather in the church basement 15 minutes before each service to get you organized, and at the end of the service, we'll find out about your future plans.

Blood Drive
We are having a blood drive on June 24 in the Ministry Center from 2pm - 6:30pm. Summer Office Hours
The office will be closed Friday, June 18, and starting June 21, the office will be closed on Mondays. The office will be open Tuesday-Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Help Wanted at St. Paul
St. Paul is looking for a custodian for the school building and Ministry Center. Position could be for one of the facilities or both buildings based on the applicant's desire. If interested, please contact the office for information on the specific job description and compensation.

St. Paul 2021 Vacation Bible School: "Treasured!"
Since VBS programming decisions had to once again be made before we could reliably foretell the future, we have again chosen to produce Videos and distribute materials for “On-Line, At-Home” VBS for families to partake in.
Some of the factors in this decision were:
  • Contacting area congregations to find out what their thoughts/plans were. We discovered that for the same reasons of unpredictability, many congregations were just not doing VBS.
  • Trying to predict the demand/ #’s of students. We were not sure if this year would produce too few kids, or the more difficult issue: too many! Because…
  • Trying to predict the availability of volunteers. Worst case scenario would have been tons of kids and not enough volunteers.
HOWEVER… it is our hope that “as things open up”, we would still be able to be together. Our plan would be a Hybrid solution:
  • Produce the videos and take-home packets for home use as we did last year.
  • Open up the Ministry Center for families to come and be together while working through the material like they would have at home, but also…
  • Giving us the opportunity to do some things together, like singing, snacks, and maybe even some games.

Stewardship - A Way of Life
Mark 4:34 – “He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.” How blessed we are to be His disciples! The Lord has indeed explained everything to us. He has told us all things plainly. Why then are we ever so foolish as to disobey His clear Word? Our fight against sin in the power of the Holy Spirit is truly a struggle. Therefore, let us receive the Lord’s help in His Word and Sacraments, and let us fight the good fight of faith and grow up into His image.

Trinity Time
Concordia University, Ann Arbor is holding a one-day retreat for high school students who are considering church work vocations on Monday, July 12 from 8:00am-8:00pm. This retreat will allow students to explore their calling, know the joy of working in God’s church, and help them understand the paths to church work that they can study at CUAA. Students will worship in the chapel of the Holy Trinity, talk to current students and faculty about church work, and enjoy the beauty of creation in Ann Arbor. The cost is only $5.00, and food is included. Those who register before June 15th will also receive a T-shirt. To learn more and register, please visit cuaa.edu/trinitytime. Orphan Grain Train—Michigan Again Ships Internationally
It has been the third international shipment. Following earlier distributions to Kyrgyzstan and to Panama, the Orphan Grain Train-Michigan Center in Sebewaing recently shipped over 1,700 boxes of humanitarian relief to Moldova along with medical equipment, quilts, and other goods. Moldova is a country near the Black Sea where many people struggle to obtain even the basic goods needed for their daily lives. More than anything, recipients need the truth of God’s Word in Jesus Christ. The receiving charity in Moldova (Bible Mission International) will share the Gospel of Jesus along with distribution of the humanitarian goods coming from Orphan Grain Train. A video of loading the 40’ Moldova shipping container can be viewed at www.ogt-mi.blogspot.com. We thank God for so many donors and volunteers across the churches who have made this vital shipment possible and OGT-M to flourish.

Grace Your Closet
April 2021 marked the 4 year anniversary for Grace Your Closet. In these past 4 years, the closet has helped 100s of local families through the gift of free clothing. Here are some facts you may not know about the Closet:
  • Over 24,000 articles of clothing/shoes have found new homes.
  • In 2019 Grace Your Closet went mobile and collaborated with Food of Faith and 95 coats found new homes
  • We’ve sent boxes of clothes to a Dow Chemical family in Houston whose home was destroyed in Hurricane Harvey. Dow flew the boxes for us at no charge.
  • We couldn’t operate without our dedicated volunteers! They meet monthly to sort and put out clothes. They’ve sorted through thousands of pounds of clothes. If you’re interested in helping, join us the third Tuesday of the month from 6PM – 8PM. We can always use the extra hand.
We are open the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9am-12pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 303 Ruth St in Auburn. Please stop in on June 19 and check us out. Masks are required and we are set up to facilitate social distancing. If you need a ride, call Bay Metro (989-894-0631) on June 18 after 9am to schedule a pick-up ride from & to your home. This includes all of Bay County. First come/First serve... Limit 1 rider per family. If you have any questions please call Karla Weiss 989 245-8627.

I will break off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I myself will plant it on a high and lofty mountain. 23On the mountain height of Israel will I plant it, that it may bear branches and produce fruit and become a noble cedar. 1We know that if the tent, which is our earthly home, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, 3if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked. 4For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
6So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
11Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. 12We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart. 13For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
16From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Holy Gospel
Mark 4:26–34
26[Jesus] said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. 27He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. 28The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
30And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? 31It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, 32yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
33With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. 34He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.
