The San Marino Unified School District (SMUSD) and the San Marino Teachers Association (SMTA) met on 2/27/19 to negotiate.

 

SMUSD provided SMTA with a proposed 2019-2020 academic calendar. Additionally, the teams studied health benefit data, options, and opportunities for addressing the preliminary increases that the Joint Powers Authority has yet to approve. Those rate increases for the 2019-2020 year are projected to be as follows:

• Blue Shield PPO - 17.5%
• Blue Shield HMO - 6.85%
• Kaiser - 12.62%

The Health Benefit Committee will be meeting with the District's broker on Tuesday, March 5th at 4:00pm at the SMHS Library.

 

SMTA provided SMUSD with a proposal for new language on Article XXIII - Public Complaints.

 

SMTA continued to work throughout the afternoon on proposals that will be presented to SMUSD at their next meeting on Wednesday 3/6/19 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
