Dan Beard Council, BSA Recent News Update

We hope that you have seen some of our local messages and updates related to the national organizations announcement of Chapter 11 financial restructuring. As we shared at the Community Fireside Chats this past summer, our council remains an independently governed and locally funded non-profit organization. Only the national organization filed chapter 11, not the Dan Beard Council. Local Scouting in our Dan Beard Council is strong and vibrant.

The infographic to the left shows 3 things to know going forward. This graphic, our local messages, additional details, and resources, are all available on our website here as well.

Safe Scouting - Hiking

Hiking is a great way to spend your time in the outdoors. It’s also a good way to get your heart pumping for some exercise or to test your limits. Some hikes are just a few hundred feet while others are many miles, but all can pose potential hazards if not carefully considered. Take some time to research your destination and its terrain so you can better prepare to have a memorable experience and fun while exploring . Click here to learn more.
