Farmers Market Vendors Sought
Although it's definitely still winter, Downtown Partners is already looking forward for the 2019 season of the Jefferson St. Farmers Market! The market will take place in the 300-500 blocks of Jefferson on Thursdays from 4:30 to 7 PM beginning May 2.
 
The Jefferson St. Farmers Market steering committee is offering a discount to returning seasonal vendors who sign up in advance, as well as for new seasonal vendors - only $105 a space for the entire 21-week season. Downtown Open 4 Business Competition
With Main Street Iowa and the Iowa Economic Development Authority, Downtown Partners presents the Open 4 Business competition for a for-profit business located in the Main Street district. Each of the state's Main Street organizations can nominate one business. Downtown Partners will hear pitches from up to three local applicants, with the winner chosen for the semifinals in June for a chance at $8000. The five finalists will present their ideas in a statewide contest in August for up to an additional $20,000 in funding.
