Commercial & Government Entity Program Facts
The Commercial and Government Entity Program might sound foreign to some, but it is a program we have addressed with many of our clients. You might know if by its acronym CAGE Code. A CAGE Code is assigned to a business by the Defense Logistics Agency as part of a System for Award Management registration. It is used to support a variety of procurement and acquisition processes throughout the U.S. Government. But did you know:
  • The Country with the most CAGE codes other than the United States is Australia with over 66,000 codes.
  • The top five states as to the number of CAGE Codes assigned are California, Texas, Florida, New York, and, Virginia each with over 100,000 codes in each state. The next highest number state is Pennsylvania with 88,000+ codes. 
  • The word most often used in a company's name (Legal, DBA, and Division) is: "Construction".
Tobyhanna Army Depot 2019 Industry Day Update
Tobyhanna Army Depot (Depot), a recognized leader in providing world-class logistics support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems across all units of the Department of Defense, has announced its Industry Day Event for 2019.

This one-day event will be held in Building 2, Bay 1 on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Attendees will hear briefings on Depot capabilities and receive information about upcoming procurement opportunities. Commanding General MG Randy Taylor, Communications Electronics Command, will provide opening remarks.
 
The event is free of charge; however, lunch and refreshments will be made available to attendees for a fee $20.00.

Department of General Services Survey
The Department of General Services Supplier Service Center has a four-question survey on Automated Clearing House (ACH) Payments which will help its service to suppliers. As you may already know, ACH refers to a network which allows funds to be sent electronically. Instead of using a credit card, invoices are paid directly from a bank account. Here is An Opportunity To Do Business with the Commonwealth!
On Thursday March 14th a one-on-one networking opportunity for Prime Contractors and Small Diverse Businesses/Small businesses relating to the PA Department of General Services (DGS) Job Order Contracting (JOC) Program is taking place at the Anthracite Heritage Museum at 22 Bald Mountain Road Scranton, PA 18504 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
 
The $50 - $70 million JOC Program is a procurement method that Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Agencies use to complete small construction projects with a total value of $10,000 to $300,000. This event will afford Small (SB) and Small Diverse (SDB) Businesses an opportunity to meet one-on-one directly with JOC Prime Contractors and the Commonwealth. Prime Contractors in attendance will cover the following disciplines:
 
1. General Construction Prime Contractor - Lobar Associates
2. HVAC Prime Contractor - Clark Contractors
3. Plumbing Prime Contractor -  Clark Contractors
4. Electrical Prime Contractor - Clark Contractors
 
Opportunities exist in Professional Design Services, Construction Subcontracting, and Construction Goods and Materials. 
 
This regional meeting will be for businesses from the NEPA Alliance region which includes the counties of Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, and Wayne.
