Thanks to all those who attended our 5th Annual Clean Energy and Sustainability Extravaganza. We were delighted that we had over 150 individuals who attended the event. In addition to our attendees, we appreciate our sponsors and exhibitors, speakers, and volunteers who greatly contributed to the success of our Extravaganza. Thanks also to our partner, the Association of Energy Engineers - National Capital Chapter.
Our keynote speaker, Todd M. La Porte, Associate Professor, Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University, provided the big picture needed to get us to net zero emissions in energy, carbon, water, and waste. He states that "I want to signal right at the outset, the magnitude of the challenge, I think, is more than just a solution that we can draw up on a drawing board but that it has deeper cultural, social, and organizational elements to it..." Green Career Workshop 1.0: What’s Your Green Career Plan?
(8:30 am – 12:00 pm)
Our Green Career Workshop will provide you with insights on your career strengths and preferences and how these can be tailored for application to the new “green” economy,
e,g., clean energy, sustainability, circular economy, resiliency, etc. It provides experiential activities designed to guide you in developing an actionable career plan. Registration includes a workbook with exercises and resources.
Green Career Workshop 2.0: What’s the Best “Fit” for Your Career Path?
(1:30 – 5:00 pm)
This workshop builds on the insights and practices from the Leaders in Energy Green Career Workshop and we encourage you to take this workshop as a prerequisite, although it is not required. Participants will be asked to bring their Green Career Plan, developed in the Green Career Workshop 1.0, as a foundation for the Green Career 2.0 workshop. This workshop provides experiential activities designed to guide you in the next step on your actionable career plan.

EQ Skills for Green Leaders

This workshop will provide you with effective leadership and management strategies for working with colleagues, staff members, senior leaders, and volunteers as a Green Leader.
