The Design Awards are an ongoing program established to encourage excellence in architectural design, to make the public more aware of our built environment, and to honor the owners, designers, and construction teams of successful projects.

Emerging Rochester Architects - Design Competition

The 2020 Rochester Designers Unleashed: Architectural Ideas Competition challenges participants to take an actual project suitable for development in the city of Rochester and unleash their ideas upon it, without mercy or recourse, showcasing its full architectural and design potential. Member Discount Codes

AIA Rochester is pleased to again offer member discounts to its programs when possible. Our new aiaroc.org website requires the use of a code that you must enter to receive a discounted fee. We note available member discounts on our Events page event descriptions, and we will provide the associated unique discount codes for individual events via our e-newsletters and e-updates listings.

Select your event, select your ticket (note an asterisk indicates member discount available in the notes!), and add it to your cart.
Click "Checkout"
On the next screen, enter the discount code in the box on the top right, and fill in your information including your member number. The discounted price should reflect in your cart upon entry of the code.

ARE 5.0 Study Material

Associate Members ... AIA Rochester has an extensive library of Brightwood and Ballast study material to help you prepare for taking the ARE exams. Our new office location is accessible Monday - Friday from 9AM - 4PM for you to stop in and pick up material to borrow. There are sign out cards in each book, so just fill out the card, leave it on our desk, and you can be on your way.

2020 Instagram Program

This year's Instagram initiative will include three main elements; members, programs, and firm project images. Be part of the movement! We are still collecting images for our "in the details" posts. Just send us images of your favorite projects. Include two for each project. A close-up image of a detail and then a larger image showing the project as a whole. Getting to net zero

In 2007, the AIA helped set the Federal 2030 Net Zero Energy Goals. Today, we continue to push for ways to achieve and surpass them.

This includes preserving Section 433 of the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA), which cost-effectively improves energy performance for federal buildings, and leading the fight to protect energy efficiency incentives like the 179D tax deduction. On the state and local levels, we are guiding governments and communities toward effective green building incentives. READ MORE
