March was full of activities at EOA,
here are just a few highlights:

The members of the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas visited the Pat Walker Center for Children each day for a week in March to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss and Literacy Week!  These ladies read books and interacted with the children each day.
The Junior League also provided a Dr. Seuss themed snack and a new book for each child to enhance their home library.  Thank you!

In celebration of Dr. Seuss' Birthday and Literacy Week, staff members dressed up each day.  Pictured below - staff members are dressed as their favorite book character!

Children at our Oak Center enjoyed making Dr. Seuss themed snacks
for Dr. Seuss' Birthday!

Betty and Kayla from St. James Missionary Baptist Church donated over 200 books to our Ivory M. Conley Center.  Thank you!

We were lucky to have lots of dads come to read to us in March
for our #StrongMenRead initiative.

Members of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program volunteered at the Pat Walker Center for Children.  This energetic group spent the afternoon outside prepping our garden for planting.  Thank you!

We were excited to have several community members visit our Oak Center to read to the kiddos in March.  Pictured clockwise from top left: David Kissinger from the Springdale Fire Department at our Oak Center; Zachary and Jonathan from Springdale Water Utilities; and Tommy Wright with the Springdale Police Department.  Thank You!

Congratulations to Room 2 at our Ellen Smith Center for winning a Pizza Party for reading the most books during the Reading Race!

While our kiddos were out on Spring Break, our teachers spent several days in training.  The morning sessions focused on classroom strategies and leadership styles.  The afternoon was spent in various breakout trainings and classroom organization.
