Community of Practice

It must be summer because things are heating up in the Community of Practice (CoP)! Typically, summer is a time to relax and vacation, but Montgomery County's youth development practitioners are filling up CoP workshops and demonstrating their commitment to professional development. Topics featured this month include "LGBTQIA Ally Training", "Keys to a Successful Mentoring Program", and "Foundations and Impact of Trauma on Teens and Young Adults". We were joined in one training by Ananya Tadikonda who serves as the student representative on the MCPS Board of Education. She brought great insight into the perspectives of youth. August workshops are ready for registration! Click here to view upcoming offerings.
Thank You Kathy!

The staff and board of the Collaboration Council want to thank Kathy Stroup for her three years of service and dedication to the children and families who took part in the ACE Academy.

ACE Academy, a 21st Century
grant, was a three year partnership between the Collaboration Council and the Community Preservation and Development Corporation that ended in May of this year. Kathy served as the Program Director for ACE Academy and led a great team that made a powerful impact on the children of the Park Montgomery & Essex House communities.
